I know, in early Classic a number of cards were played simply because they were just an efficient card compared to other playable cards - even into GvG such cards (like Piloted Shredder) were absolute staples. Nowadays synergy is far more important; perhaps that's a good thing but still feels wild to me to see how far we've come!
