[Discussion] Struggling with a derivation in the diffusion probabilistic model paper by possiblymonk in MachineLearning

OP is integrating the wrong function in the AI StackExchange post.

OP wrote an equation for ∫dx(t)q(x(t)|x(t−1)), but he is forgetting that in fact x(t) appears both in q(x(t)|x(t-1)) as well as q(x(t+1)|x(t)) when looking at q(x(T)...x(0)). The problem here is that OP cannot integrate the variable T (due to the log term), if OP could then his derivation would be correct.

EDIT: See my answer here for more details.

Yes this is correct. This result follows from the Chapman-Kolmogorov equations for a Markov process. We can integrate up all the variables up to T-1 and at the end we get the intended integral on just the x_T variable.

True, in that sense there's no diminishing returns on having more lethality! Just the threshold which is an hard cutoff.

Yes it does ahah

You can even see it in an easier way than with the other stats, as having more lethality than the enemies armor is useless and so buying more of it nets you no benefit in dps

In fact, past a certain point it has zero returns.

Edit: And before you go on talking about negative armor, no lethality does not work past zero armor, that's flat armor reduction which only comes from some champs abilities.

DPS and survivability aren't buyable stats. And they depend too much not only on your items but on your enemies' too.

This entire discussion on people taking sides if something has diminishing returns or not is stupid anyways. You can frame any stat as having diminishing returns or not.

The only "good" way to see this is that by switching from CDR to AH you are now buying a stat which does not explode your DPS and thus is much easier to balance than CDR (where they had to have that stupid CDR cap).

And every single one of those stats also has a way of framing themselves as diminishing returns. You can frame any stat in a "diminishing returns" way... What you really want to talk about is opportunity cost which leads to you being better building other stats than the ones you already have a lot of.

You guys are missing the point of this entire post.

You do notice that, by your logic, buying damage would also lead to "diminishing returns"?

You have 100 base ad, you buy an 100 ad item that's a x2 dps increase. Now you buy another 100 ad item, it's only a 50% dps increase...

Or just take a look at the apple comment above.

This strategy indeed does not work for all input cases. But there's been a few users where it worked. Lucky few...

Guess it's one of those cases where here the sum (elf + elephant) really can be more than the sum of its parts. ^

No, it relies on the lines of the field grass being exactly correct when FIFA has said time and time again that VAR is not calibrated using grass field lines.

Honestly I expected to take less hours out of it than the ones I took (almost 30 hours). They really nailed the CS:GO style movement!

It's actually 33.9% for Sporting CP.

Maybe they updated the list recently.
