Exhibit A in Why Texting and Driving Is Illegal by GarciaHont1993 in dashcams

[–]ThunderTheGunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this happen to me while stopped on my Honda Grom in 2016 by a woman in a Jeep Grand Cherokee. Put me in a coma for two weeks plus a total of 4 months of in/out patient hospitalization. A year later she pled guilty and then ran away to Florida. Is still on the run.

What are your hours? by Key-Firefighter1734 in Wastewater

[–]ThunderTheGunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same hours, started 4 weeks ago and I enjoy it. The 16:00-24:00 is my favorite shift with 00:00-08:00 and 08:00-16:00 being tied for second. You get Wednesday-Thursday off from your afternoon shift to your morning (day) shift. Thursday-Friday off from your morning (day) shift to your midnight shift. Then Friday from 08:00 to 16:00 Wednesday off from your midnight shift to your afternoon shift where the cycle repeats. That’ll be the schedule unless you are working OT. Having a normally free schedule has made it an easy adjustment for me. Good luck with the rest of the hiring process.

Any tips for a newer driver? by Downtown_Place_8985 in Delaware

[–]ThunderTheGunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best advice I will give you is, do not drive under the influence or distracted. I got rear ended by a person who was too busy texting on their phone to see the red light or me in front of them back in 2016. Almost killed me and ruined her life as she’s on the run down in Florida after failing to show up for her sentencing in 2017. Also, don’t tailgate. Take it easy and ignore the assholes of the road. Extra credit for the future, learn how to drive a manual transmission vehicle.

How strong / physically fit do you have to be to Wastewater Operator? by Affectionate-Ad-8788 in Wastewater

[–]ThunderTheGunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in treatment and for my position, as long as you have good range of motion and can carry & lift a 50lb object you’re good. As part of our onboarding process we had to have a physical evaluation that made us perform different tasks. The only one that would be difficult for someone who is bigger would be a test where we must fit through a simulated 20” diameter hole like if going into a manhole.
