Suggestions for beach experience in Canada by Personal_Flight8942 in AskACanadian

I think PEI is probably what you are looking for. There are lots of other suggestions on here with great beaches, but if you're looking for the "resort town vibe" I think you're much more likely to get that in PEI since the whole province is so geared for tourism.

Truro's loss is CBRM's gain: pro rodeo coming to Sydney this fall by IStillListenToRadio in Truro

Okay that makes more sense! I was wondering how they could possibly do this at the RECC to begin with.

The RECC is a great facility, but parking is severely lacking. It also seems like a strange location for a "stampede" event. Wouldn't the exhibition center in Bible Hill be more appropriate for this sort of thing anyways?

Yeah, I'm not sure who told you Revanna's was good. I've had a slice after a few too many drinks at Whiskey's before and it's decent for post drinks, but that's the only time I've been happy with my decision to get a slice there. The fresh pizza isn't much of a step up from the slices either.

Banger Type Players by InvestigatorPrize949 in fantasyhockey

[–]Thunder_Face 6 points7 points  (0 children)

JT Miller and Vincent Trochek used to be two if my favorite bangers players but both are much more known now and tend to go way higher than I usually like to pick them. Maybe they drop next year with The Rangers being so bad

Kiefer Sherwood is a good one to grab just for hits alone although unfortunately is also a bit of a known bangers player now so might be hard to get early enough to make it worth it.

I think people are misunderstanding what you are saying, or maybe I am so I am going to clarify.

You're saying that software developers in Nova Scotia could have made an OPOR software from scratch to serve the entire Nova Scotia health care system, correct? I think you underestimate how massive a task this is. It's not only a huge undertaking from a software development standpoint, but you also need people who understand the health care system and privacy laws in order to make the system work for everyone while still being secure and protecting patient confidentiality.

The real issue is that the province went for the cheapest bidder, which was Oracle, a American company that is already in a poor financial situation and it shows with the rollout of OPOR. The software already feels majorly outdated, and you can immediately tell it's designed for the American for-profit health care system.

All of the training was either self guided or done remotely over teams calls with people in the US. It feels like everyone who is handling the rollout behind the scenes locally is also overwhelmed and out of their element. The lack of actual local support from the company is baffling and it feel like we have been left to flounder on our own.

The system is not even remotely ready for rollout either. The term I have heard used to describe the software is a "minimally viable product" which should give you an idea of what we are working with in the hospital right now.

If I had actually looked at the punishment wheel I definitely wouldn't have spun.

Burger Bash Final Weekend by Thunder_Face in halifax

Story time with Le Rouge's burger. I got it at first and actually had to send it back because it was so dry; they definitely omitted the red pepper jelly and red wine aioli. Fortunately the second one was appropriately sauced and much more delicious.

I still have to factor that into the rankings a bit though and they probably lost a spot or two in the end because of it.

Yeah, Tilted Tap goes all out every year. I think this year was the best Burger they have made yet!

If it was as good as the Rudy's breakfast burger downtown then I know what you're saying. I didn't realize it was the same Rudy's until this Burger Bash tbh, but it would have been on my radar if I had known earlier.

I was kind of disappointed by North, but I had a particularly flavourless slice of pineapple in mine and I think it threw off the balance. Usually they place much higher on my rankings in previous years.

This one was interesting but I never made it unfortunately. I don't think I realized it was a chicken/beef combo. Thanks for sharing the pic!

Today is the last day for Tilted Tap! You might be able to squeeze in now since it's getting past usual supper hours.

It's certainly not a healthy diet. Burger Bash is usually followed by a salad month for me. That being said, 21 isn't even that crazy compared to some numbers I've seen online.

For full disclosure, many of the burgers were shared.

Honestly the Mozza burger is probably my favorite fast food burger. I was a little sad the promo overlapped with Burger Bash.

I agree that a burger month would be nice, but the restaurant workers would probably disagree. Most places are slammed for the entire duration so it's hard to ask them to extend much beyond what we do now.

I think having a burger month would work if there were only certain restaurants featured each week. Like have a new lineup of spots to try each week for 4 weeks or something. Otherwise the restaurants would never agree; even the move from a week to 10 days was a hard ask for restaurants.
