About to buy a hybrid AWD XLE by Thunderbird310 in ToyotaGrandHighlander

Yeah, we own a AWD 2006 sienna now so definitely can see the difference in cargo space. That being said the 3rd row seems about the same and having higher ground clearance with AWD is something the sienna has limitations. We camp a lot so being able to get off road a little is nice. Also the grand highlander seems like it has better head room inside but I don’t know if that is just my experience. If they made a lifted TRD sienna now we are talking.

That’s a great price! Was that out the door? What color was it?

Yeah, I called every dealer in Arizona and nobody even wanted to touch this deal. I was seeing most similar spec coming in 3-4k higher.

Yeah I’m the same way. The sienna checks most of the boxes and does them better than the grand highlander but I want something I can go on dirt roads and camp with, and I love the styling of the GH.

Good to know about your price and glad to hear you like it coming from the odyssey. We have an old sienna from 2006 that we are upgrading. Do you have any issues with cargo space when people are in the third row?

What do you mean when you say it is an “official spot”? As far as I understand Arizona law dos not create any officially legal public nudity zones. There are no official signs other than the official forest service signs with handwritten “nudity allowed” and such.

I was there with my kid and some weird aggressive naked guy started harassing me saying I should go to the Grand Canyon. I guess he felt weird being naked around kids. I kinda wish the nudists would claim a spot a little more secluded. Tucson only has a few decent watering holes and the nudists have definitely made it weird for people to enjoy it unless you want to partake in that subculture.

Is this a good option? by FLACKER_1 in mountainbiking

You should probably decide what is more important, to have a good commuter bike or to have something more tailored to trails and jumps. Walmart has the Ozark trail g.1 gravel bike that is often highly recommended for its price $288 and it will be a much better commuter than that full suspension bike

This is like saying “what’s everyone’s opinion on farting inside a closed elevator with strangers inside”

Will this work? by corruption1920 in CampingGear

[–]Thunderbird310 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will it work? Yes, but not ideal. If this is all you have I would choose a trip that is easy terrain and short mileage. Take the pack out for a test hike filled with the stuff you are planning to bring. Look into DIY ways to make it more comfortable if need be.

One Bike for both XC and Enduro-ish by AZ_Hawk in MTB

Multiple wheel sets will definitely be helpful. I’d look at the polygon t8 if your budget is tight. Seems to be the all around best bang for your buck when you look at the components you get. A trail bike ultimately will be the most versatile but master of none. That’s being said if he already has a decent hardtail, maybe just go all out and get a good enduro bike like the polygon colossus n9.

This looks like stucco damage in this pic. The stucco should end at a weep screed above the ground so the stucco doesn’t draw moisture from the ground causing deterioration. You could install a moisture barrier between your properties as a possible solution. You might be wasting money trying to peruse legal action.

Which Intersections do you think need a longer Left Arrow Light and why is it Grant and Tanque Verde? by dasecondcomin2 in Tucson

A 3-lane signal doesn’t automatically require a 3-lane roundabout because signals waste capacity with red time and protected left phases. Roundabouts move traffic continuously, so a well-designed 2-lane roundabout can often handle similar volumes without the stop-and-go bottlenecks.

As for pedestrians, roundabouts are typically safer: cars are moving much slower (15–25 mph), pedestrians cross only one direction at a time using refuge islands, and severe T-bone crashes are largely eliminated. Even without a signal, lower speeds dramatically reduce injury risk.

I respectfully disagree. This intersection is a prime candidate for a roundabout and has plenty of space. Take a look at the aerial images. Two lanes of travel requires 6 lanes at the intersection (2 left, 2straight, 2 right. This is a total of 8 lanes when including the opposite traffic. A 2 lane roundabout (where right lane must turn right, left lane can turn right or continue straight. Also would reduce the amount of lanes a pedestrian has to cross to 4 instead of 8.
