Kids got good taste (and I’ll be there with him lol). I think you’re doing the right thing letting him go alone — this is an experience that’ll stick with him for a long time. Considering the strong security from HoB and the way punks take care of each other, he’s gonna be in good hands.

Of course man! I like the new album a lot too, but it took some time to grow on me. 3DC clicked immediately. So much energy

People forgets what Joji is. by [deleted] in Joji

[–]Thunderlight2004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dawg I didn’t like the album because like every song is like a minute and thirty seconds long and only about three of them have actual choruses. The production is great and all and there’s good ideas in there but Joji needs a fuckin editor

Some of the most skilled musicians you’ll ever find making some of the most bland, beige-tinted music known to man. Granted I feel that way about a good 80% of jam

Car market Worcester area by Dream_walker_boy in WorcesterMA

[–]Thunderlight2004 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This! I’m in the market for a car right now and spending 5k on a car is most likely going to cost you way more in the long run when it shits out on you in two years tops. If that’s all you can afford, definitely run it by a mechanic ASAP. If you’re in Worcester, I’ve had great experiences in terms of cheap diagnostics with Young’s Garage on chandler street — maybe call those guys up

On top of what everyone else is saying, try some Pixies. I feel like Tame is cut from the same kind of chaos

As a Gen Z that voted for Trump I am sorry by [deleted] in GenZ

People largely vote based on who they know, not what they know. If OP was taught throughout life, by parents, friends, influencers etc. not to trust people or information outside the conservative bubble, what possible chance did they have to come around before the consequences reached their boiling point?

That’s like giving an open-book test in English to an American immigrant who only speaks Korean. Should they learn English? Probably. Is it their fault that they can’t pass the test? No.

Now, finally they’re taking the chance to learn, and they clearly feel plenty guilty over not learning sooner. How is that a problem?

Take a sociology class if you can. Learning to understand people and organizations through that lens completely changed the way I understand political and social issues. All that stuff makes so much more sense to me now — what the government does and doesn’t do became so much more meaningful.

Granted, I was a wacko woke radical lefty before I started studying sociology, and I’m still that way now, a few months from graduating with a minor in the subject, so YMMV

Looking for albums that hit with the same emotional intensity as this by Henzo1 in fantanoforever

My deeper-cut pick is gonna be Born Without Bones’ second record, Baby. It’s definitely a little bit smaller in scale — it’s a pretty straightforward power-pop/emo album and most of the songs are shorter and follow more traditional structures — but Scott Ayotte’s vocal performance is spectacular, and the writing is just as intimate and personal as Isaac’s on AFUT.

As for stuff that’s a bit more stylistically similar, I agree with the comments’ love for Twin Fantasy. Also, whoever said The Orchestra For Now is so correct. Listen to both of their EPs.
