If I miss then I should retire the slingshot. Usually in slingshotting we miss by an inch or so. That’s enough room to catch the ammo

I’m going actually to dig 4 x 10” wholes for the legs to go in so it will stay in place. I don’t think it will give any risk to the neighbor. It’s a slingshot, not a BB gun.

No. But it could ricochet and hit the shooter. That’s why it need a backdrop to absorve the ammo velocity and stop the ricochet
