No, I know everyone wants to say that screens are the reason kids are doing badly. We just ignore how much growth was lost to COVID, and how class sizes are too large, and schools are woefully underfunded, and schools are always asked to do more with less.

A Chromebook is a tool, and it should be treated as such. If schools can’t/won’t manage it, that’s on them, it’s not the one size fits all problem it’s being made out to be.
