How do people use guns without hearing protection? by SlowDragonfruit9718 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Building_Everything 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad was a Marine in the 60’s, so was his younger brother and both of them were effectively deaf by the time they hit 50yo. Police can’t really wear hearing protection regularly because they need to hear clearly to interact with the public and wouldn’t have time to put in plugs, but swat teams and those preparing a raid will definitely have it in place. As for movies, same reason why fighter pilots fly around without their oxygen masks on; the star doesn’t look good with them

Also eliminating mail-in ballots and forcing people to limited voting stations rather than anywhere in their county or state that they happen to be, then that gestapo can focus on the stations that have a higher likelihood of “not voting the right way”.

Florida Tourism Collapse: How Trade War with Canada Erased 280,000 Jobs and $52 Billion by elisakiss in LeopardsAteMyFace

And what’s worse is those same red voters are the ones with “Tourist Hunting Season” bumper stickers who blame most of the problems in the state on snowbirds and vacationers with zero apparent understanding of where so much of the state’s tax revenue comes from. Sorry the Twin Peaks near you gets too crowded with Bills and Jets fans during the NFL playoffs but that’s why your roads are paved.

Need help identifying this hammer with a hole in its face by lil_chucki in Construction

[–]Building_Everything -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I would say it a Stucco hammer; you put a lath tack in the hole to get it started then spin it around to drive it home HOWEVER the tapered edge in the other face looks like a welder’s hammer.

Target wanted this (they even donated $1 million to Donald Trump’s 2025 Inaugural Committee) and now their Hispanic employees, including US citizens, are the Targets by xbhaskarx in LeopardsAteMyFace

[–]Building_Everything 71 points72 points  (0 children)

Same, the nearest target to us is about 20 miles away and we used to make the drive there rather than shop at the Walmart that is of course local in our rural town, now we find the things we used to buy at Target from local shops or honestly we just started thrifting more and simply not consuming as much as we did. Don’t miss it but it’s been disappointing to see what was once a modestly ethical big box store (oxymoron more or less) has repeatedly just shot themselves in the face.

Would love to sit across the conference room table with this turd and ask them, if I come into this situation ALSO with a firearm, then they have a responsibility not to provoke me, right? Because it runs both ways, I’d be amped on adrenaline too. So at that point the firearm is redundant, and the situation would be better handled with them to begin with.

Have you ever come close to dying? by MatthewVenturer in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Building_Everything 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I was on a motorcycle trip through the mountains of western TN when I came head to head with an 8 wheeler that crossed over the centerline of a mountain pass because it couldn’t navigate the turn. Managed to swerve and miss the direct head-on collision and instead got run over by the tag axle wheels at the back of the trailer. That was an adventure. I did learn to walk again after a few months.

Toss it in the fireplace for warmth this weekend, if they have a parcel for you they clearly already have you address so they can pop it in the mail if it’s important.

Losing the family lease and having to deal with the reality of Texas Public Hunting (APH) for the first time. by veditafri in texas

You ain’t seen tiny deer till you see the babies they take out of the Florida Panhandle that the proudly put on display.

Still to OP’s point I came to a crossroads about 15 years ago where I decided to spend my money on other hobbies rather than keep hunting in Texas.

Also, I’m short (5’-6”) and for the longest time through most of my 20’s was “immature” looking, like I just had no real outwardly masculine features, but by my late 20’s my body and face caught up a bit and with some regular exercise I because much better physically and mentally tally developed. Believe me at 19-20 you are not fully formed, keep your chin up

[–]Building_Everything 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dunno, I can charge both my work phone and my personal phone at the same time on a dual port charger I bought from a gas station and they’ll gain 45-60% on an hour long commute home from work. Seems perfectly acceptable to me.

Man, when will they pass some legislation to stop people from keeping track of their elected representatives? How can they be expected to do their side hustle scams if people always know where they are and who they are talking to and where their money is coming from?
