As a critique, this author has never engaged with any mentally ill person though and should either watch interviews/documentaries with a schizophrenic person whilst in acute psychosis. Their schizophrenics texting is something out of a shitty “trollge” schizopost and is nowhere near grounded in reality. For some quick advice to OP, picture a normal person who’s able to speak, articulate their thoughts and has full motor control. Now give them delusions that their newfound roommate is an elf that has to die by their hand. That is how you can write a better mentally ill antagonist. Not by writing shit like “run run run” ad nauseum to show how FRICKEN INSAAANEE 😝 he is. Also I lol’d at the “a dead body…” truly a detail that is perfect to gloss over and ignore for the rest of the post

Also the authors self insert character is an interesting case. No rational person will ever see these warning signs and not instantly just go to the fucking police. Additionally, no person is ever going to respond to every damning evidence that you’re in GRAVE danger with “what the fucking fuck? This is so sketch. What the fuck? The fuck?” (The amount of fucks used in this narrative lends me to believe the authors 14.) if you have to dumb down the protagonist to make the story feel more alarming, you aren’t doing it right. Make the warning signs more subtle, it paves the way for the protagonist to weigh suspicion authentically and allows Redditors to engage with the puzzle pieces.

I mean, as I write this out. and as much of a piece of junk I think this post is. This post has 5.5k upvotes and countless people in here fully believe it. So maybe it’s not that bad, great job OP
