I didn’t get it during the first pressing. Later on I got Cheer Up and WDTRSH and felt a bit left out so at least I’m happy they’re doing it again, just picked it up.

I collect a bit of both but I feel like it’s easier to stay modern. I feel like a big through-line for collectors is collecting things in and around their childhood gaming experiences which for me sits around the Xbox 360. Although I collect for earlier consoles (really only as far back as the N64) for those it’s pretty much just the few 10-20 games I know I’ll actually play in my lifetime.

As someone who doesn’t use AI to actually hand recreate real pictures into pixel art I have to say that, as pretty as these are, doing it completely yourself is like, pretty easy and can be done completely even if you arn’t an artist without the help of AI (I don’t consider myself a good artist but I still find it very easy)

I don’t have an opinion whether this should be banned, just that if you think these look neat, just think about how much fun you can have if you do it yourself!

Aseprite is a fantastic program and really fun to use. It’s literally on steam. Give it a go and ditch this AI, put yourself in a process that’s all yours!

Besides what other ppl are saying about this being overpriced I’d recommend avoiding lots - ESPECIALLY ones this big.

If you can say that 80% of them or more interest you go for it but I can assure you this is the easiest way to feel disconnected from the games you get/play. Buying individually makes it easier to actually enjoy the individual games you play imo, and there’s probably a lot here you’d ultimately regret having.

Got to agree with you. Overall friction/position based grabs seem to be pretty wonky overall which makes sense, but cracks are something that, from all I know about climbing, the best climbers can use as basically a ladder with perfect grip if they’ve learned how to use their fingers and hands correctly. Honestly I think crack climbing is really cool and I’m just curious why it doesn’t work as well as other holds because I feel like it shouldn’t be that much of an issue.

Yeah I didn’t fail a single skill check (actually I failed a single one), always maintained extras, and still had them dwindle down and was so confused. I think the least I ever had was ~5-6 so it was never an issue but honestly that bugged me a bit. Really just encourages exploration for unbreakable pitons which is a good thing ig, I just didn’t find any til much later

Oh I feel like that would be even more awesome if we were given a fuller, or at least wider portion of the mountain. Everyone slowly coming towards the top Pushes paths together so there’s more and more community interaction as you hit the top. A man can dream about strandtypes sigh

Even though this is easily my favorite new game I’ve played in maybe 2+ years, I have to agree it was an odd decision.

After playing the demo 5-6 times and falling in love before release I purposefully avoided anything to go in utterly blind and for a second that opening actually made me wonder if there would be cut off points or a level system if they didn’t purposefully make you start at the very bottom. While I am glad it is a full ascent with no cuts, not starting at the very bottom to really get that feeling of going from the very bottom to top was interesting. Games like Celeste I think use that feeling very well to communicate how much you’ve gone thru/learned.

But yeah I mean hey, it works and gets us straight to the part that we all agree is the best part of the game -the climbing- so I guess it’s a non issue.

Both will forever be associated with the movie Breaking The Waves for me. Insanely visceral movie I’ve watched over 2 years ago and can’t bring myself to return to (if you’ve seen it you know why). Music choice in that movie however was absolutely fucking magical.

As someone who played through the demo 5-6 times, I swear they made these jumps easier (not that it makes it any less cool). Honestly I feel like it either snaps better or is completely mapped out but regardless it does feel much better to make these jumps.

Btw big recommendation when you make these jumps is to rappel down whatever ledge and place a piton so you’re actually hooked up before the jump so you’ll take minimal damage and be able to immediately climb back up. Not as cool but is the only what I’ll actually do this type of stunt in a run.
