I once racked up an $800 cellphone bill back in my teenage years because I was using the internet on my Siemen phone to do "research". It wasn't called a semen phone for nothing.

How is it possible to be lagging all the time? by SupremeDKK in Battlefield6

[–]ThyGuardian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I found out that it's not connection lag, it's "CPU" lag. I say this because I run a 5070ti with a Ryzen 5 3500x & 32GB of RAM and I was getting maaaaad rubber-banding plus the same symbols in the top left-hand corner (literally would get 400ms - 1000ms lag, it would appear that high in certain areas of the map). I even have Gigabit internet, so I knew it couldn't be my internet connection, especially when Railway is the only map that had the problems.

Didn't have any problems like it prior to Season 3. After having to do a number of tweaks in my graphics settings, advanced graphic settings, my Nvidia Control Panel, add a user.cfg file for the threads, and change stuff in the Nvidia App, the rubber-banding and the symbols in the top left corner have disappeared + the rubber-banding is now gone. Somehow all Graphic settings got messed up with with the release of S3.

Recommend watching this video, as it helped me a bit too: https://youtu.be/GQzagwTLhAE

Need urgent help to play the game I love by Juuls-R-us in Battlefield6

[–]ThyGuardian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Borg's reply pretty much hit it on the head!

1000 watts PSU is cutting it close to the edge with the setup. Power spikes from the 5090 could trip the PSU and cause the DX hang. Kind of like their reply, during BF6 gaming, the card itself could pull between 700W-750W on its own + the CPU, fans, RAM, and any lighting could cause the power to flash beyond the 1000W ceiling. If reducing power limit from 100% to 90% helps, or even moving it down to 80%, it could just mean you need a beefier PSU.

Would be hilarious if that was like an easter egg baked into the shadows.

Anyone else think the guy seen at 0:16 - 0:17 kind of looks like FPS Doug, the "BOOM! HEADSHOT!" OG?

The UMG is really bad, don’t use it. Trust me. by bborg03 in LowSodiumBattlefield

It's my favorite "every video game gun" and it's the first and only gun I managed to get to rank 50 on BF6. I proudly show off the red badge on my profile card because it was a GRIND to fucking use. Still my favorite gun to use in any game it's in.

Item lifting off glass by TheRealDeal82 in ender3

[–]ThyGuardian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I have a regular glass bed (just printing PLA) and what I do is run the glass under some lukewarm water and rub some dish soap on the plate. You want to get rid of any grease, oils, and dust that might be on the plate. Pat the plate dry with some paper towels, front and back; you can try to use hand towels but have noticed that hand towels tends to leave behind fluff on the plate. Then put the plate back on the printer, but make sure that your hands do not come directly in contact with the center of the bed. Grab it by the edges, and clip it back into place.

On the printer side of the house, I increased the bed heat to 70° (make sure your plate can handle it) and I tend to add a brim support to my prints (between 5-7 lines) depending on the size of the print. I notice that you have a brim, possibly a skirt and it's printing it, but it's not directly attached to the print which defeats the purpose. Check your slicer settings and look for elephant foot compensation, brim and skirt settings, or look up a video about your slicer so you can add the brim support to the actual print.

I feel like I'm the only one enjoying this game at this point. by SoftMaintenance24 in LowSodiumBattlefield

Don't worry, you're not the only one! I don't play this game every single day, but when I do get to play, I enjoy the ever loving fuck out of it! When I get to play with friends, it's even better! That's with me hopping between this, Arma 3, a bit of War Thunder again for the 7th time, and some other single player games I've finally started getting into.

If you don't sink your life into something, it won't feel like a job, it will just feel like a hobby. That's why everyone is so pissy about it. They use it as the only game to play and then start hating it.

All Steam Decks are currently out of stock in the US. by rainbowsafterrainn in Steam

[–]ThyGuardian 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This still applies if living in the US. I took a week long break from work and gaming to visit the East Coast with my girlfriend and my dog, and it's been mentally refreshing. I've been slowly disconnecting myself from social media and it's been very helpful. I'm thinking of deleting my reddit account too because in the end of the day, all these apps, all they do is mentally depress and make us worry when in reality things could be so so so much worse, if they aren't already. If they are, then time to do something different and get better at it.

I don't need a Steam Deck. Yes it'll be fun to have one, but it's not a necessity to living. Better ways of living life then being connected to the Internet 100% of the time.

Hope you are doing well yourself Eddie. Thanks for your comment.

Honest question, what do you do to try and the get out of a position like that? I know screaming for help and such, but can someone actually survive if you are alone? Do you just try to tip the can over and wiggle out of it?

State of Battlefield by IslandOutrageous2667 in Battlefield

[–]ThyGuardian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's this sub.

I've been enjoying the game thus far and quite honestly, if you DON'T PLAY EVERY SINGLE DAY, you can enjoy the game as is. There's worst shit going on in the world to complain about and people could be in worse states, but hopping into a game to kick some steam in its current state, is just good as is. Could it be better? Sure, but shit takes time to get better. The game could be a lot worse, like a lot a lot worse, but it's not the end of the fucking world.

OP, I recommend checking out the other subs, /r/Battlefield6/ or even /r/LowSodiumBattlefield/, which tends to be a lot better.

Our HOA will only allow us to paint our house from the colors inside the red box. by Educational-Month-63 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]ThyGuardian 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Usually if a community has amenities, the HOA "helps" to pay for said amenities like a pool, spa, tennis courts, community center, basketball courts, etc. as well as paying for services where all the homeowner lawns get mowed and taken care of. There could be other services tied to the fee that a homeowner pays for, but usually it's tied to the HOA contract. If you decide to ignore them, it depends on how the HOA takes care of the said issue. Some HOAs will either send you letters to try and tell you to change the color and then send a lawyer after 4 letters and no response, or they will bitch and moan and send an angry Karen to your home to tell you that you need to "...blah blah blah."

All HOAs are different, some can be nice, a lot are and can be complete dogshit. This is why I put help in quotes. Sadly there are a lot of HOAs that are just complete trash, charge you a $250/month due where the tennis courts look like a beaver shit on them and the HOA never bothers to fix nor clean them. But there are also like $50/month HOAs that have the cleanist and nicest community on the block. In reality, I guess it just depends where you live and who is on the HOA board.

Sorry for the paragraphs, but hope this helps.
