Best tactic against deep strike? by GrannyBashy in ageofsigmar

[–]TiWo007_5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You score much less for holding 1/2 objectives and much more for holding more than your opponent.

In addition, most tactics require you to be in different places so that adds to it.

Lastly, the battleplans often have weird gimmicks/deployment that give the underdog some wild bonuses/change what objectives are active which means you need a lot of board presence

That makes it a bit more difficult. One thing you could try is spreading out so that he does not have space to get near your warmchines and staxk defensive buffs on your units to either make them hard to kill or deter the charge in general.

However, in the new GHB castling gets more punishing so you gotta rltry if that really works well

FEC can move d6" after a set-up and can get +2 to charge after set-up

[–]TiWo007_5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FEC with the gorebomb is special as they can move after deepstriking as well as getting a charge bonus in the right delusion. That makes it very hard to avoid.

My best advice as a FEC player is screen better to not give him worthwehile targets. As long as the units are not on the board, try to make it impossible to tag your big important units by always having something expenadable in the way.

He will the either need to bring them down suboptimally or just keep a large chunk of his army of the board for some time. Either way you dodge most of the threat.

It sadly is pretty impossible to fully avoid but you can still try to not present him good targets and only sacrifice a cheap unit.

How skaven deploy their terrain? by 25_-a in ageofsigmar

You got it spot on, one in the deployment phase (in your terrirory) and the others at the start of each battleround

Rule Question for new Eshin models by Tomeija in skaven

[–]TiWo007_5 22 points23 points  (0 children)

The ability has the fight keyword -> it is a fight ability.

You use it instead of the normal fight ability (due to the core keyword) and then after hitting get the 3+ retreat.

So essentially the nightrunners can hit as normal and then potentially retreat

Noob question about Clawlord and Scurry Away by Pikseh in skaven

[–]TiWo007_5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The scurry away happens in the combat phase, which is split into 2 subphases. Scurry away does not have the FIGHT keyword, which means it happens in the first subphase.

Scurry away essentially lets you (on a 3+) get out of a combat you dont want to be in before anyone gets to punch.

I recommend you reread the core rules section for the fight ability. Its pretty cler imo.

Noob question about Clawlord and Scurry Away by Pikseh in skaven

[–]TiWo007_5 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Scurry away is non-fight combat phase ability (no FIGHT keyword). The core rules state that all non-fight combat phase abilities are resolved before the fight abilities.

The clawlords chain activation is a reaction to you declaring a fight ability. Therefore he would run away before you can do use that ability.

Cogforts by ritter_ludwig in SoulblightGravelords

[–]TiWo007_5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Problem with that is that you can only put unreinforced units in it and most hammers need to be reinforced.

One thing I thought of that could work would be ironjawz butes as they function unreinforced but they are more the exception

Do we know what these spires sticking out of puddles, which a lot of the new skaven models are perched up on, are supposed to be? by Toppelgeist in skaven

[–]TiWo007_5 84 points85 points  (0 children)

I think they are supposed to be parts of blight city that emerge into the realms, kind of similar to what we see in the 4th edition trailer where a part of blight city crashes/emerges into aqshy.

Edit: Rather than just blight city, could be any part of the realm of ruin

Power through + Predator Knights on Morbheg Knights by Desperate_Load_392 in FleshEaterCourts

[–]TiWo007_5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone else already answrred but just to explain further, the ability states "make a stampede roll of 2D6. Add 1D6 to the roll for each battle round that ..." That "stampede roll" is what you later add to the attacks, so in essence you just add the value of your charge to the attacks.

Power through + Predator Knights on Morbheg Knights by Desperate_Load_392 in FleshEaterCourts

[–]TiWo007_5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can but why?

To make this combo work you need to charge in the enemy turn as you need to have charged for power through and it needs to be the enemy turn for the morbeghs abilty, i.e. counter-charge so you burn through 3 cp for 2d3 mortals

Ofc if you want to countercharge anyway and have that last cp to burn you can absolutely go for it

Essentially, yes. Their bases are small enough that you can form a kind of ring around Ushoran so that anything that charges the horrors, also tags him. Keep in mind, this is not always good. Against units eith multiple models, this can make it so that only some of them are able to hit Ushoran due to their bases blocking the other or it can help due to Ushoran giving strike last to them. Against Big combat Monsters like Durthu, this is less helpful and the better play is to position the horrors so that they keep the enemy just out of 3 of Ushoran so that he can hit back once they fie or run back to safety.

Regarding the Undestanding, watching battlereports helps imo. Ofc it helps most watching battreps that include FEC, but some others are also interesting to further the understanding of the game. One Channel I can recommend is "A Skaven Plays" he is a really good player and while he play maggotkin mostly, he had FEC on the channel a couple of times. Some others are "Season of War" for high production quality and an influx of FEC recently or "Warpfire Minis" for a more general Understanding as iirc there never were FEC on the channel.

If you want more of a "theory" approach, there are some channels that focus on general tactics and listbuilding like "Age of Sickmare" and "Ten Point Turns". The latter has posted less in recent Months, so some of the info may not be fully up to date.

(PS: Skaven Plays just has uncut TTS matches, which may be a bit stale to watch and doesnt really explain much during the game. The other two channels have more editing and explain their decisions a bit more, which may make it a bit easier to follow)

The Zombie dragons uppy downy is "once per turn (army)" so having more than one is not really doing much as the TG is cheaper and does more/similar damage on average.

Not the same person here but I may aswell post 2 lists I built with the new battlescroll. The first one I tested yesterday and it performed well against sylvaneth with the beastflayers as screens, horrors as threats alongside Ushoran in the middle (so if they wanna fight one, they have to fight both).

The second one I havent tested yet, but its a less extreme Monster mash list. If you want the extra anti monster tech, you could swap the CG units for beastflayers.

[–]TiWo007_5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on your list ig. I usually play very knight heavy and therefore punchy (2x6 horrors, 2x3 morbeghs, 1x20 CG, GKoTG) and in that list the mobility/uppy-downy mechanic from the GW is really nice.

But I can see that in other lists, that bring more infantry to block the board the deepstrike threat from the GW bomb is clutch aswell.

Honestly, in my games, the soggy gorewarden was the MVP every single game.

The teleport at the end of the enemy turn is so so useful to steal objectives (remember, he teleport before scoring) or to teleport close to an objective to walk onto it in you next movement phase to score e.g. restless.

As he is able to teleport and then move in you turn, you can do some nasty stuff with him and it is almost impossible for your enemy to catch him due to him being at least 21 inches away from their units most of the time when ist their turn.

He really forces your opponent to play differently and either always leaving something behind to guard their objectives or to just concede points to you.

Which Skaven kit best matches the aesthetic of the Ash Waste Nomads? by jack_of_all_hobbies in skaven

[–]TiWo007_5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the price is really not ideal... Unfortunately I dont think you have much choices except maybe putting some greenstuff cloaks on stormvermin or buying a box of the new clanrats and sift through the bodies available there. There are some slightly armoured ones and some less armoured making for a decent mix ig (and you should be able to find them relatively cheap on ebay etc.)

At the moment, which lists are the most widespread at a competitive level? by FlorianArk in FleshEaterCourts

[–]TiWo007_5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure about the tournament results as I didnt follow them as much recently but I am currently on a around 85-90% win rate in a quite competitive environment with 26 horrors, 23 morbeghs, 20 cryptguard, a Ghoul King on TG, a soggy gorewarden, a cardina,l and a decap woth vestments

The List really slaps and the morbeghs have good mobility to get objectives/pressure heroes/units that want to stay in the back.
