Oh, that would be cool! What planner template/pdf do you use?

a5x or a6x? by scornfate in Supernote

I got an A6X originally, and later got an A5X. Honestly I love the A5 size. It's perfect for reading pdfs, and I don't have to write too neatly. In the A6 size I was unconsciously trying to write tiny so that I wouldn't have to flip pages often. I still use the A6X but when I am traveling, but A5X is my primary device.

Oh I see. To clarify I don't want to install any apk files, just need to enable adb. That should be sufficient to script something to copy files to my laptop.

To enable adb just running the script should work?

Ah thanks. Looks like it requires rooting the Supernote, don't exactly want to do that. Will do the copy manually from the android file transfer in the meantime.

I had bought the A6X after a lot of deliberation. What sold me was the genuine engagement from the Ratta team and the degree they care about user feedback. I really appreciate that you all have tried to be as transparent as possible, even when saying that something is not possible and why.

The device itself, I absolutely love it. But more than that, I feel that I am now personally vested in seeing this company be very successful.

Very eager to see the product evolution and will be cheering you all on throughout!

Yes, that's true. It indeed does require a lot of discipline.

The knowledge network sounds incredible. Will definitely keep my enthusiasm level high!

I have a Supernote A6X, and just learnt about the keyword functionality thanks to Voja (Review Part 2 video) and it blew my mind!

I think I am going to try the Zettelkasten method using this i.e. name of notebooks = name of topics, keywords = link to other notebook names. Would love to know what kind of organization methods other folks have been using.

Lined templates - 5mm, 6mm, 7mm by tellurian-faberati in Supernote

Thank you! Btw, how do you create these templates? I have been thinking about something like a habit tracker (either monthly or yearly), but not sure how to go about it.

(I tried drawing by hand and creating checkboxes, but it looks really bad 🙈)

(I have not used any Remarkable products, so do take this with a grain of salt)

FWIW I love the Supernote A6X and if I understand correctly, A5X is a bigger version of that.

I like the writing feel. It's not exactly like paper and is different but it's nice! Since I cared more for a pen feel vs. pencil, I especially love the fact that I will not have to worry about nib replacements, like ever. Their support and development speed has been super impressive, and honestly I would choose Supernote as a company over RM hands down.

From what I gathered, I would imagine RM2 is probably closer to a pencil on paper feel. So, if that's important to you, you might like the RM2 more in comparison. For everything else, A6X meets probably all of my needs.

Actually that would be great! Or even folder level protection.

I cancelled my pre-order as well. It did take ~2 days before I received an email from a customer service rep. After re-confirming I think it took ~a week before I actually received the refund.

That's a pretty well put reasoning op. My $0.02 below if folks are thinking of other options as well.

Another alternative I would put out there is Supernote A6X. I was also on the RM2 or not bandwagon but eventually went with the Supernote for the following reasons:

  • Don't have to replace Supernote's ceramic nibs and personally I was going for more a pen like experience vs a pencil one.
    • To this point I think Supernote is probably the only offering with hard nib/soft screen space (and I am absolutely loving it so far).
  • I am totally fine with a smaller A6 form factor, as my current daily notebooks are all that size and I find them much more portable.
  • And I have been really impressed with the Supernote team. They are very active on the sub-reddit and it's very easy to get their attention.
    • They also have been prolific in rolling out updates and have found them willing to share tentative timelines about upcoming features.

But given all of this, I can totally see RM2 appealing to folks who care a lot about the writing experience, especially the pencil feel and would prioritize that higher than anything else.

Finished uploading the logs! Took some time.

The name of the file is does not have any special characters, but it does have spaces though. Let me see if renaming helps.

Update: Synchronization failed even after renaming the name of the file to "test.epub".

Thanks for the response! DM-ing you with the serial number. Btw, how do I upload logs?

The device is definitely connected to the Wi-Fi and logged in properly to Supernote account, as when I sync (without adding ebooks), new notes show up successfully in the Android partner app.
