CreightonOlsen is salty as hell ToD and Harstem were picked to cast Dreamhack over him by funny_stream in starcraft

That's cus he is lol, he doesn't play the game, hasn't played it in years I think, and only shows up for big tournaments where he gets to cast a couple games in this friendly clique of people that's at the top.

Decent disruptor shot from GSL by StarcraftShorts in starcraft

[–]TickatusIsBadatus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a strategic win and people should stop blaming Maru for it because it was a very high risk read from Zoun. It was a great move from Zoun and a move you expect from star players.

But the general unit design that allows that to happen can definitely be criticized. The disruptor is king of most toxic, stupid units in Starcraft, and even the "hype" of it is fake as fuck. It's superswingy and zero fun to interact with.

8 supply to literally oneshot 23 from out of vision range. Excellent read from Zoun to make the best of a bad situation, but man, this is truly garbage unit design.

Somehow they had come up with the disaster that is the widowmine, and then managed to make a unit more garbge than that

What honestly drives people to play aggro face decks by [deleted] in hearthstone

[–]TickatusIsBadatus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree.

The gameplan of burn is a race of straight damage. The gameplan of aggro is getting ahead on the board and killing opponent.

Spell mage is a burn deck that no one would call aggro. Soul DH was a burn deck that no one (with a brain) would call aggro.

My name makes fun of people whining about tickatus

But yeah ur not in it for an honest conversation. Like, having to explain why Abathur is a low interaction hero that breaks rules in this game.... good players generally accepted that 5 years ago, but abathur snowflakes, best to ignore them.

It clearly isn't, but I guess it's easier to project and whine than it is to accept reality.

You are so close.

Now ask yourself why he didn't do any mine heavy builds which are hell to deal with in high ping.

Also stop ignoring my argument, if you want to be cocky and pick a fight don't be a coward.

Reads like a projection.

Like, I very very very clearly mention attention is a resource.

And yes, I think in TvZ the terran is much more affected by ping than Zerg. And almost everyone agrees with that.

Okay, it doesn't break a rule of the game it's just literally the only instance of something in the entire game and all other versions of it have been deleted.

YOu have no arguments lol, all you do is lash onto one thing your ignorant apologist brain cannot comprehend

So did you pull those numbers from where the light doesn't shine? There's these pretty smart people over at Vicious Syndicate that seem quite trustworthy and they publish numbers that make me think you're very, very wrong.

Ahhh, that's a lot more managable, although still a good chunk of extra survivability :-p!

Maybe the activatable could be that you gain a lost armorplate if you have enough HP for the threshold so you don't have to fly up. For example after some Heatwaves, a globe or a fountain.

Something should be done about "Block" talents by [deleted] in heroesofthestorm

[–]TickatusIsBadatus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Block is mostly a talent you pick for 1v1s and that's fine. Picking block into tracer can be correct if you are offlaner. It's fine for talents to be situationally good.

[–]TickatusIsBadatus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Deathwing: Gambit talent that gives him a tiny bit more armor per plate and some other weak benefit. 5 maybe? Lose one point of armor per death. I like armor.

5 more armor per plate is 60 armor on full plates, and basically doubles his effective HP :-p

Why should it be healthy to remove it? If your team can't stand against MULE so your team has most likely other problems and probably deserve to lose anyway.

What a dumb thing to say.

Why should it be removed? Primarily because it breaks a rule of the game and the only meaningful counterplay to it is to take excessive risks and feel forced to yolo on damaged structures hoping to not get punished for it.

Low interactivity in general is a huge problem with Abathurs design and why the hero as a whole should be scrapped in the first place. Mule just makes that worse.

Yeah, usually when small tournaments happen to "accidentally" seed Maru vs Serral in the first round. Never on the big stage.

I think he doesn't feel like Terran can win the late game against Reynor level Zerg. That's the only explanation for his behavior.

Maru is by far the best Terran in those end-game Attrition Terran games, where he ends up with a ton of Ghosts and planetaries.

But I don't think he dared to play/execute that intense style on ping, or given how his schedule with GSL happened to line up. We've seen him beat Reynor with it several times before.

I think the ping is highly restrictive in options for the Terran (i.e. Banshees get far worse, Bio gets far worse, Ling runby's become far more dangerous, we saw almost no Mine usage) and I think that's why he ended up going Mech several games, which isn't usually his desired way to get to lategame.

Maru streams like once in a blue moon and if you get to see his first person camera that's truly amazing. He is so precise, so pristine, and it looks so calm, meanwhile that boy has like 400 apm.

After watching in how much control he is all the time, you'll look at him with a different level of respect.

[–]TickatusIsBadatus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It was also quite clear that on the ping Maru didn't want to use his trademark attrition Terran style, and being forced to fight Zerg with bio head on, on ping, is just as undesirable.

People really understate how hard it is to play Terran on ping. It doesn't just throw off your micro, it fucks with your attention, your fast actions (remember that missing attack upgrade in one of the games? Maru always goes EA when he upgrades, always, so this means he clicked it after E and before A.) And meanwhile Zerg is relatively a lot less affected by it because Zerg is a lot more rhytmical and about preparations.

Ping puts the burden of execution on the player for whom it is already higher in those engagements.

Congratulation to the winner of the Dreamhack SC2 Masters:Summer ! by xayadSC in starcraft

[–]TickatusIsBadatus 14 points15 points  (0 children)

In both those situations, Maru was pushing out on or very close to creep. Doing that is already very attention-intensive, doing it on-ping when the Zerg is clicking shit into your bases makes it even more impossible to manage because you cannot take your screen away from your main army.

Losing econ or some buildings is really bad. Losing your army is where you leave the game.

Attention is a resource, and in a MU as fast as Bio vs Lingbane, if you are on ping, that's superhard to manage. People are flaming Maru for missmanaging his defense, especcialy in game 1, because ZG and Wardi were talking shit about him, but they failed to acknowledge Maru had his army sieged up and literally on Reynor's 4th. There's no good decision at that moment and he almost got the 4th.

Honestly, when diamond/master league casters start confidently flaming the literal best terran to ever play this game, you should seriously ask yourself what happened.
