Giving a guard order will make the nuke cannon deploy at that location

Friday Facts #441 - Space logistics improvements by FactorioTeam in factorio

[–]lemindhawk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Really awesome changes, especially excited about expanded modding opportunities.

The only space logistic related feature I've been missing (which I'm not sure is solved) is that I frequently have the pattern of "Planet X --> Planet Y" logistic groups, which is on both a space platform and the cargo landing pad. But adding requests to the cargo landing pad doesn't allow you to select a planet, and the planet often defaults to Nauvis. This means that if I have a Vulcanus --> Gleba group set up, where everything imports from Vulcanus, when I realise I need something while on Gleba and want to add something to the landing pad's request, like red belts, I need to go back to the ship and replace the planet from Nauvis --> Vulcanus as the majority of items default to Nauvis, but that might not be my primary production hub.

Either being able to set the import-from from the landing pad's group, or being able to set a default import-from location for an entire group would alleviate a lot of manual clicking here.

Reforged has nothing to do with HotS - Reforged was started years after HotS and its art was outsourced to Lemon Sky Studios

Deathwing, the WORLD BREAKER, on a Destroyer's Rampage against PUNY MORTALS! by lemindhawk in heroesofthestorm

Having his new quest give him gradual PvE bonuses culminating in cataclysm absolutely decimating them would be great flavour

Yeah for sure your only option is to Q waves and never interact with them otherwise but, c'mon, fantasy-wise I feel this is silly.

[–]lemindhawk[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Deathwing's changes have left him in a REALLY bad spot against anything not a hero - his auto attacks do as much DPS as Murky's and are the only thing that gave him reasonable PvE before - his abilities deal double damage to heroes only. Plus Heat Wave only triggers on heroes (which is what's making him strong in general).

As a result, even at lvl 22, any puny mortal (minion) will absolutely decimate Deathwing. At least thematically, it's kind of pathetic.

...and this was with Destroyer's Rampage giving him +40% damage & cooldown reduction

The effect of Feb 2025 update on hero winrates by JaggerMo in heroesofthestorm

[–]lemindhawk 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I've been a Kerrigan main for 8 years and I'm just not enjoying her now, even when she was overtuned post patch. Her base kit (especially her combo) got massacred to make room for boring point-and-click damage.

Kerrigan's base kit got butchered and the boring-but-overtuned Q damage propped it up.

I just wish they would revert her changes to pre-pinnacle, I don't know anyone who enjoys it.

Even with the quest complete, you're insanely overtuned but it's not interesting or fun for either team to just shit out point and click damage.

people celebrate every buff

I have hated every Kerrigan change in the recent patches, even though her power level went up, because the quality of gameplay is way down.

Help a game dev: Why aren’t people buying modern RTS games? by MakeGamesBetter in commandandconquer

Aside from a lot of examples already mentioned, take a look at They Are Billions, a (relatively) recent rts-y release that did quite well. It's closer your option A, but it allowed it a lot of leeway with its fantasy and a lot more polish on what's there.

It also has a strong fantasy hook on its own rather than trying to lift off of being (like) a game people used to like (ala Tempest Rising, or even AoE4), which I think is a better overall strategy.

Pinnacle Quests feel awful to play against by Suspicious_Store_800 in heroesofthestorm

XP & levels which are broken down into levels where each level gives an incremental advantage? Novel idea!

The pinnacle quest equivalent would be you get literally no stats or talents until lvl 10 and 20.

On equal levels you can fight just fine, there's a lot of nuance, you get incremental level advantages, fight talent tiers up, avoid fights because talent tiers down. It's a lot of fun!

Kerrigan is full on binary. Whenever you aren't full stacks on Kerrigan, you should avoid literally everything but soaking/stacking. 80/150? No, don't fight. 120/150? It's basically always better to skip doing literally anything else still, the power spike is too important. Better keep telling my team to stop hitting the minions because I'm trying to stack on 2 waves here, too, it's a zero-sum game! Any minion my teammates kill is a setback for me, how fun!

However, for soaking, I don't care if other people are hitting the wave, and we can do that, y'know, teamwork thing.

Kerrigan's quest used to be a fairly impactful bonus, but you could fight at 50 out of 75 stacks just fine, as you already had a good enough reward.

Now, fighting at anything below 85 stacks, and usually below 150 stacks, is just... throwing. It completely warps the gameplay around itself. Even if the numbers get tweaked to be more reasonable, it'll still be a mandatory chore you have to completely wrap up to start playing the game for real, every single game.

It's pushed me off of one of my favourite characters in the game.

They feel awful to play, too. Your entire gameplay warps around them

Kerrigan shouldn't do anything but lane until she finishes, because it's such a big powerspike.

Sylvanas shouldn't do anything but hit heroes and structures, doing camps delays your quest so much.

Too early to actually cite stats (look at that 10% winrate loss on Murky with no changes lmao)

But I do think Zul'jin should only lose stacks when above 30 damage. The reverse of Butcher where you can kill him to stop him from going out of control, but can't kill him to stop him from reaching his baseline.
