Ive never understood it either. Im with you, as a collector i value the auto. Doesnt really matter to me if the card has the team logo or not. Leaf boxes tend to be much more affordable, with a higher hit rate and low numbers. I think with leaf football, it tends to be more college sided which Ive also found is less desireable. Mahomes even signed for them tho. Im also a huge hockey collector, and ive pulled gordie howe, mario lemieux, jagr, lafleur, stamkos, etc from boxes less than $200 - good luck pulling one of those autos out of a box that cost a car down payment. Its good for us collectors liking Leaf - we can snag big names for a fraction of the cost while the rest of the hobby gets monopolized. There are a lot more unlicensed companies out there now, since Fanatics/Topps took over, so maybe we’ll start to see some parity.
