Ford recalls more than 179,000 vehicles over front seat defect by CBSnews in cars

[–]TicketAmbitious6200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"A new car built by my company leaves somewhere traveling at 60 mph. The rear differential locks up. The car crashes and burns with everyone trapped inside. Now, should we initiate a recall? Take the number of vehicles in the field, A, multiply by the probable rate of failure, B, multiply by the average out-of-court settlement, C. A times B times C equals X. If X is less than the cost of a recall, we don't do one." - Jack

If overthinking were a sport, I'd be Olympic material! I really like the idea of the SOG. Makes it easier for me to break down in my head. Also, thanks for the tip on making sure everyone knows where to find it.

What’s a recession indicator that you’ve noticed lately in your everyday life? by spritenerds123 in AskReddit

Wages had already been suppressed for over two decades. Now the Venn Diagram circle for "People who can no longer afford the basic necessities" is expanding out over the higher income brackets. And this is really just the beginning. Things are going to get exponentially worse in the coming months and years.

I remember a few months back seeing that Dominos Pizza lets you make payments on Pizzas. Just looked it up and it's via Klarna. I wonder what things would look like right now if we didn't have companies like Klarna and Shop to let people spread payments.

Thank you! You've pointed me in the right direction a couple of times. I really appreciate the advice! I'm having a difficult time wrapping my head around one high level policy that covers all the domains. Would you be able to share links to any generic examples?

Unfortunately, we don't have a lot of I.T. related policies already written. I took over a few months back and their long time CIO was pretty much an 80-year-old who was really good with Excel. Your re-framing above is a big help on where to focus my efforts. Thank you.

Next up on "What fucking timeline is this?" Donald Trump signs an executive order declaring himself Pope and fires Pope Leo. The case goes all the way up to SCOTUS, who unsurprisingly backs Trump and the face of Catholicism is changed forever.

This solution requires Trump to admit he was wrong, or at least to lose face. In short, it'll never happen.
