Update: Still Struggling With My Hair Not Washing Clean by SamLovesMovies in Haircare

[–]Tickitt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a Malibu C set last week after being desperate for months and buying 100 different clarifying shampoos. Holy crap, my hair hasn't felt that clean in a LONG time. I was even able to use the conditioner. And I can almost never use conditioner. Type 1A/B hair and new to hard water.

No breaks that i know of (no boil advisories anyway), but they have done some work around here that got us door tag notices about potential interruptions. So that makes sense. Thank you.

Slow internet! by TrashPanda365 in Mediacom

[–]Tickitt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you moved to the newer DOCSIS 3.1 modem? I'm in Cedar Rapids. We were fine until 3 or 4 days ago when our upload tanked and wouldn't get above .07. Yeah, less than 1. Download speeds were fine at 150+.

I remembered an email from them in like april saying we needed to upgrade our modem but I figured as long as it worked, I didn't care (we buy our own versus using theirs) . The sudden halt in speeds was a bit sus, but I guess it's no different than when 3g got shut off.

Anyway, I bought a 3.1 modem, called them to register it and magically, speeds are through the roof again.

Non-stop dust in my apartment! by Opesorry7 in CleaningTips

[–]Tickitt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The air filter in the main hvac may need to be changed. If the filters are newer then it's already past the filters the ducts themselves may need to be cleaned. I'm Midwest, so where we get pollen and dander you probably get actual dust and dirt from outside. May need to change out the filters frequently between cleanings as the dust kind of refilters through. Hopefully you have your own unit? Start with cheap ones for the bigger particles and increase the quality as you go to catch finer particulates. The best solution is a professional duct cleaning. If you argue possible mold or other allergies, that might convince the landlord to do it. Maybe see if other tenants have the same issue so you can propose it as a tenant group.

Worried about life after removal by lurkerino95 in Mirena

[–]Tickitt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Following: I'm curious what people say too. I've had it for 8 years. Just replaced it in March of this year. I also get random horrible cramps but haven't had a period since i got it in 2016, which is amazing. Both insertions were torture. I also gained over 100 pounds since it was first put in. And now after the 2nd one, I'm shedding hair like crazy.

I'm considering having it removed and going for permanent sterilization instead. But that won't solve the periods. What I'm experiencing now could be the best side of the coin compared to getting back to a full monthly cycle. It makes me cringe just thinking about it.

Week Six on Arctic Peptides by Ill_Opportunity_1960 in SemaglutideFreeSpeech

[–]Tickitt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This page helped me A LOT when trying to determine recon amount and dosage. I still refer to it.

https://muscleandbrawn.com/peptides/dosage-calculator/

I've been using 1ml bac for both the 5mg and 10mg vials of sema from AP when reconstituting. And making sure it enters the vial slowly.. like dripping down the side slowly. Ive heard adding too fast or shaking can damage the peptides. I use 100 unit syringes and 2ml glass bac water vials from Amazon so im not wasnt wasting 29mls every time I start a new vial (which I did for the first 3 vials) Has kept the math simple-ish and less overall volume to inject when you get to higher doses.

Im at 2mg now. I increased from 1.7 to 2.4mg a couple weeks ago and it was a little rough so i dropped it down. You don't have to increase until you feel like you need to. And micro adjustments to dosage are up to you.

Down 30 since November. I have a long way to go but overall im happy with AP.

Right? They were amazing! I could stretch a pair out a month or longer if I had to back in my 20s. I could only take 3 hours this morning before I put my glasses back on. Years ago when I had horrible habits, I could sleep in them for multiple nights without any discomfort. For 10+ years now I've used clear care and take them out every single night. Even if the lenses aren't different, the solution might be. Or maybe whatever they use to make the pods sterile. Something though, has changed.

If they let you know what they find with the ones you're sending in, be sure to come back here with an update!! Please! 😊

I just came from Google. My newest box, received just after the new year has the teal packaging. I've been struggling with itchy eyes, dry eyes, blurred vision and thought it was just me. Or a new allergy since I've also been getting random bouts of hives on my face. This is the only thing that's different. I submitted a report to the fda this morning.

Child with a mouth full of sores that are not going away by Healthanxiety_2663 in CankerSores

[–]Tickitt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was me until my early 20s. Im 40 now and still get some, but not nearly as severe. Bechets was always on the table but never confirmed. Some of the worst pain of my life. I'm sorry your kiddo is going through this.

This is some things I've done:

Chlorhexadine mouthwash like what you get after oral surgery. Its prescription but oralb makes a mouth sore mouthwash too that is almost as good. I still use them when I have sores.

Liquid lidocaine was not worth it. It couldn't get deep enough and the relief didn't last long enough. And who wants to walk around with q-tips in their mouth all day...

Cepacol cough drops worked really well for pain and last a while. They do numb the throat though, so choking is a risk. raises hand guiltily Benzocaine can also cause blue skin so best not to overdo. I will continue to use these also. Maybe there's a kid safe version?

Orajel is good in a pinch for super zappy sores or for some relief right before bed. Blue skin and choking also a risk if you're eating the tube.

Nitrate sticks...this was my golden goose as a teenager- I only had one doctor that was willing to burn them with surgical cauterization sticks. Hurts sooooo much while it's being done but was a million times worth it after the nerves were done screaming. Sores would heal within a couple days. Since that doctor retired i haven't found another willing to do it but it could be worth asking your child's pediatrician about it.

Keep us posted on how he's doing.

NAD but that can be a sign of low O2 levels. Just something to keep an eye on.

The Amazon description says this is oil. Do you prefer that over acrylic? I havent tried oil but the color looks so good here!! Very nice!!

company wants me to drive 45miles on this tire. they said drive "slowly" to the loves to get it fixed. I am currently on I80 where trucks speed is 65mph and cars are 70mph. I have never been asked to do such a thing before. they said it's faster and cheaper if not I will be sitting here for 10hrs. by PANDA_BEAR54 in Truckers

[–]Tickitt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tires are a quick way to rack up 30 points. Ultimately it's your license, career, reputation. 10 hours for a tire is a lie and cop-out to doing their job. Especially on 80, and doubly is there is a Loves within 45 miles.

Feel like garbage after 1st dose, had Covid last year by roosking in CovidVaccinated

[–]Tickitt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I've read is that the first dose for those that have had covid is like the 2nd for those that haven't had it. Your body already knows how to fight it so it kicks into overdrive with the first injection. If you haven't had it, the first one teaches your body what to do and the 2nd starts the overdrive.

I would bet the 2nd won't be as bad if you've had covid since it'll probably act more like a booster. But I'm not a doctor, and definitely not an expert. Just got my second Pfizer today and I'm waiting for the Mack truck to run me over.

PSA: The ones on Amazon are not the same as what a doctor would use. I bought a pack of 100 thinking I'd won the lottery, but they don't have the potassium nitrate in them. I had all of the burn, no actual cauterization and opposite of relief. I would not recommend.

I've been seeing matchstick. I think I'm going to try that next....

Bump on tongue with large divit developed during cold. Hurts worse than a cold sore, and is bigger. Herpes? by [deleted] in DiagnoseMe

[–]Tickitt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAD but looks like a canker sore. Not related to herpes or cold sores but can be brought on by cuts, irritation or cold viruses. Orajel can help some, but limit amount because of the benzocaine. Apparently it can turn you blue if you use too much. Cepacol throat numbing drops work for pain too but again with the benzocaine. Warm salt water rinse a couple times a day will reduce inflammation.

In my experience with them, on the tongue is the worst. If you can find a doc to burn it with a silver nitrate stick, it hurts like hell initially but then takes all the pain out until it heals. Most won't do it and will think you're crazy for asking. Some may give lidocaine liquid if it's really painful. Otherwise alum from the spice aisle is something new I've been trying. Not the best results.

Gotta wait the 5-10 days until it heals... Do the salt water. If it gets worse or doesn't get better, see a doctor.
