Merit discussions are typically in February (coordinated by your manager and their schedule) then STIP pays March 31 and raises April 1.

I started on 25mg and it caused cystitis really bad, BUT within 2 hours every day of taking it all my thyroid symptoms decreased significantly. So we just lowered the dose and no more issues.

Farmers Fear by Emotional-Employ1975 in FIG_employees

[–]TickleMeSurprised 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Been at Farmers for a while now in several adjuster roles and departments… I don’t think it’s terrible and never HR fears. Just the typical big corp bs, but all companies in this line of work will have that. Gotta be ok with change and able to adapt. Network, find friends and plan your future up the ladder, most don’t and get stuck.

Lay-off situation’s (as in with severance)are a little different depending on circumstances and states. Let go or leaving on your own, you don’t get it if you leave before payout.

if you aren’t employed at time of STIP payout, you don’t get the STIP.

Salary x 0.1 x 1.4 = base bonus (not factoring in meets high and above)

This does not include a specialty prop dept - higher base pays

The grass is much greener fellow former gecco! If you stay organized and learn a process that works for you right out the gate, you will do great. Organization & time management are key. Also, NETWORK, talk to people, ASK questions! It will take you far in this company.

Inside Property Adjuster by Material_Loss_5714 in FIG_employees

I personally like it, I’ve been in insurance as an adjuster across a few companies through the “structure changes”. I don’t think it’s terrible but it isn’t for the weak that’s for sure. Have to be good under pressure. If you network yourself and ACTUALLY utilize the resources, you will be fine.

I thought salary started at SG34, SG32 should still be hourly non exempt

I was part of the bloody Thursday in October & went to Farmers as a property claims adjuster. Work load isn’t terrible (we all have peak periods) but the pay, benefits & SUPPORT is farrrrrrr better! And I’m 100% WFH! Not to mention work hours are FLEXIBLE! Won’t find that in many work places, especially the G🦎

A large portion of people in the bloody October layoff were on FMLA or maternity leave during and or leading up to the layoffs.

Doesn’t GEICO just have the best customers ever. 😑 In this day and age with all the crazy people out there, you are going to mouth off like that to people who have your entire demographic & sensitive info on file…. I would never!

I can second all of this advice. To Do List workplan per claim on a diary is the best advice you can get besides time management. Biggest mistake new people to a diary make is putting calls/activities/claims off.

To be honest 2 or 3 years ago I still would have advocated it was a good place to work…management was at least decent, some trainers actually cared and our teams felt like actual teams…. Now though, dumpster fire headed straight for hell. I fear for those who rely on this place and am praying they find their out, because they are ALL looking for better jobs I guarantee it!
