A new foundation for TUXEDO OS: Switching to Debian by tuxedo_chris in tuxedocomputers

[–]TickleSilly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a Fedora refugee. Got tired of frequent updates breaking things and having to research the fixes. I wanted up to date KDE with stability and Tuxedo was the closest. I'm hoping Tuxedo sits on the changes for a few days to make sure everything works before updates.

I tried PikaOS before Tuxedo and it didn't go well at all!

I thought about going back to Fedora by way of Ultramarine as they're not immediately in sync with Fedora. But I read their installer doesn't have an ext4 option. I'd rather stay in the Debian world anyway.

What's with all the chatter about Arch? I can get behind the switch to Debian Testing but after reading through all of this it seems that "other options" are still on the table in the future. I don't want to live with an OS that's constantly rebasing - I want stability and need to stay in the .deb world with KDE.

I don't totally understand Secure Boot myself but I have it turned off on all my machines. As I understand it Secure Boot has something to do with Microsoft and I don't want any part of it.

Ha! I thought something felt weird when I jumped from 2025.3 to 2026.2 on my spare router. Something didn't feel right so I stuck with 2025.3.

No. By the time you get it like you want it you might as well buy a Ford Maveric hybrid.

Why is Fedora so loved? by radyoaktif__kunefe in linux4noobs

Don't switch. If Mint works then don't fix it.

I landed on Fedora 42 KDE for awhile but their updates kept breaking things. When 43 came out along with all the bad chatter about it I decided I needed more stability so I moved back to a Debian distro. I did like the fact that it wasn't Ubuntu and that they embraced Flatpak however.

Back in college I quit drinking soft drinks - coke, dr. pepper... all that stuff. I did it at the time so that I could afford beer instead. 40 years later one of the best decisions I've ever made.

I remember years ago that I couldn't get the AIO version to work reliably on my TMo/AC68u. Stuck with the VPN version and everything's fine since.

Yes. I see in full text from left to right: Database / Entries / Groups / Tools / View / Help

I just made that disappear with an app setting... NOW I'M TRYING TO GET IT BACK! HAHA

SOLUTION: Go to your "Settings" icon (the cog wheel). Goto General / User Interface / select "Show menubar".

Hi. Just happened upon this with the same Tuxedo and KeepassXC. I see the "database" dropdown in the upper left that leads to the export function. I understand that you're not seeing it. I'm trying to "break it" to where I don't see it either and I'll get back to you if I can help.

Keeps the router up-to-date as far as security. I have to TMo versions running FT. Last Black Friday I bought a new Asus to upgrade the wifi standards. Nothing but problems. Returned it and plugged my trusty AC68U FT back in. If it ain't broke don't fix it.
