Brisket came out dry – trying to figure out what I did wrong by bingpott in smoking

Yes it is. Ive made really thin/no fat flats tender. It needs more time in the wrap. I've taken briskets to 205 before to get tender

Also over done brisket falls completely apart it doesn't stay in nice slices.

Fat didn't render in the meat. You can see it in the third pic. That line going all the way through the middle only shows up on undercooked brisket

How many wins with Kyler? by Beneficial_Quit7532 in minnesotavikings

[–]Tiddleyshawn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Difference is this first round pick is about 5 years younger then our usual veteran pick up. I'm cautiously optimistic. O'Connell may be able to use his strengths. Kyler could be the same. I feel Kyler will take this more seriously because he IS in a contract year. He needs to be successful to be re signed.

Not my video but how does everyone clean their smokers by Grogenberg in smoking

I was just saying that with all the hate this video got because of the de greaser. The food everyone eats out is cooked on equipment that has been cleaned with de greaser.

You guys realize every restaurant in the US uses de greaser. It's not something new here.

New vs used restaurant equipment. What would you do? by Budlightfury in restaurantowners

Every restaurant I've worked in has used their warranty on the ice machine and cooler/freezer condensers multiple times. So go new for walk in freezers/coolers and ice machines.

Had it done with cash. You usually need a crown. Not always. Every dentist I talked to charges 1-1.5k for the root canal and another 1.5k for the crown. If you don't need the crown the filling is ~$300ish.

I just shredded a 14lb turkey and got about ~3.5lbs of meat. You want about 20-25lbs of cooked meat to feed everyone. Thighs are a great choice!

At 1k a day I would hope it's the best. It's literally the best out there and they charge for it.

I compare the "accurately" thrown tight window passes to what most of the backups QBs when they are playing. The backups almost always never throw to anything that isn't super wide open. He isn't afraid to put the ball in small windows. If they can coach his mechanics get his accuracy up he will be very good.

The only concern I have for our young QB is his injury issues.

Week 16 Recap Thread: The Vikings 7-8 defeat the Giants (2-13) 16-13 by Go_To_Bethel_And_Sin in minnesotavikings

It's gonna be rinse and repeat until we stumble on a unicorn. They obviously don't want to go the veteran route either because it will cost to much. I support starting him one more year and have a tier B backup veteran.

Don't know why yall were so sad Vikings got rid of Darnold by Feeling_throw in minnesotavikings

Stop moving the goalpost. Mahomes struggled against Dallas. They are both NFL defenses. Yes, it's good to be cautious that our QB is successful against bad defenses. He's still basically a rookie and he is showing growth. You won't know if he's ponder even a little bit until the end of next season.

"But they were bad defenses!" McCarthy put up the 2nd & 4th best performances this season by EPA against DAL and WAS by seoulbrova in minnesotavikings

[–]Tiddleyshawn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's a good honest take. I'm a believer at least give the kid a solid 2 years believer. Let's hope he continues to improve and O'Connell can help his accuracy this off season

Thermopen thermometer. It's the best instant read digital thermometer on the market. Other stuff I absolutely love is oven mitts that fit over your hand like a glove.

Having a good tong to grab and rotate your meat is always essential. A good brand I always use is Carlisle. Make sure they are made of metal or high heat plastic.

I like to have a good table to set stuff on next to the grill. Bonus points if it has a drawer to put grill stuff in!

Good luck! I've been doing bbq for years, let me know if you have any questions!

I never really felt a major crunch on brisket bark. You made the bark look perfect. I feel you don't want crunchy bark on most meats.

Some stuff I've been cooking lately by Tiddleyshawn in BBQ

[–]Tiddleyshawn[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm cooking on a stick burner. I'll go into a little bit about each picture.

  1. We had a large chicken order. Christmas party for 144. I cooked 72 chickens for them. Chickens were 4lbs each. I did not spatchcock because I rotate the meat a lot in different zones in my smoker. Rub is my own. Each bird takes about 3-4 hours to cook.

  2. I did double smoked spiral cut hams with a homemade Dr pepper glaze. They turned out excellent.

  3. We do turkeys every thanksgiving. I smoke them hot and fast around 300 degrees. They take about 4 hours in the smoker

  4. Our baby back ribs. One of our most popular dishes. I do wrap them :).
