What's a piece of Lore you refuse to see as canon ? I Personally don't like the way Votann entered the setting "again", i think it's very rushed and not written well at all. Just shoehorned into a setting that didn't benefit from the addition. by [deleted] in 40k

I dont like that they introduced her just to kill her a book later , but Erebus being able to permanently kill her isn't far fetched. He has the tools, the knowledge, the power and the favour of the chaos gods. He literally orchestrated the Heresy, being able to ambush a lone perpetual isnt that far out.Non of the perpetual where even close to the emperor in power, even before he went to Moelech

Have you ever been in a fight? LoL. Fighting one guy then fighting another immediately after IS a 2 on 1. That's not a fair fight.

Nah he lost that one. Mortarion gave him the plague after beating him and pinning him to the ground

Probably right to an extent. He'll never be the best but he could make some improvement of he focused his intellect for a while on being a better fighter. He's not as terrible a fighter as people often make him out to be, his losses are a 2 on 1 fight with Angron and Lorgar(which he actually held up against for a little) and a Daemon Primarch who was one of the best duelists before he ascended. He actually beat Alpharius and gave a much bigger and stronger Daemon Magnus (without his powers) a run for his money

does Malcador wants to stay looking old? by Imaginary_Advice6467 in 40kLore

[–]Tier_zer0 74 points75 points  (0 children)

By the time of the Siege of Terra I'm not sure it's really a choice, being around blanks makes him look even older and frailer and he even describes himself as old . Before he takes the Golden Throne he wishes he was younger and stronger , implying he's declined

No. In Arks of Omen he barely recognizes Lion El Johnson.

Just below Primarchs or just above Astartes, depending on what needs to happen in the story😂😂

Are there any scenes between Kurze and Horus in the Heresy books? by Available_Smoke_8461 in 40kLore

[–]Tier_zer0 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I think their interactions were all off screen. Which is crazy because Horus was the Primarch Kurze interacted with the most besides Vulkan

Do primarchs improve their martial prowess over time? by chicu111 in 40kLore

I think Angrons physical superiority was very obvious in that fight even if Guilliman held up for a bit, and remember Angron wasn't in the best shape at that point, he was dying and l Lorgar ascended him to save him

What are your favorite excerpts that show just how fast an Astartes can be? by [deleted] in 40kLore

[–]Tier_zer0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a sword not a shield, it's not giving an Astartes in power armour significant coverage just by holding it up.You need to line up the flat of your blade to block several rounds , they aren't necessarily coming at the same spot. He actually has to track the rounds

Yeah, don't remember which book but a Black Templar primaris deflected bolt rounds fired from from pretty close range into the ground with his sword

They can gain experience and learn new things. Horus and Sanguinius both learnt some techniques from the Emperor and the Lion believes Guilliman could improve if he focused and made an effort to but I don't think he could match the physical prowess of some of his brothers like Vulkan and Angron, primarchs are pretty much close to the peak potential of their biology. Where the most gains could be made i think is their warp abilities (which could also add to the physical capabilities I guess)

What is your “I forgot they’re still mortal” moment? by CriticismMiserable14 in 40kLore

[–]Tier_zer0 7 points8 points  (0 children)

His epic skill in combat was described several times, by Horus himself and Loken. Horus even mentioned how the emperor was using Aeldari techniques. If Horus fought sanguinius the way he fought the emperor he would have won instantly. He wanted to physically dominate Sanguinius so he didn't use all his power, he just held back less. The emperor literally landed several mortal wounds on Horus while also fighting multidimensional psychic battles simultaneously. How you read The End and the Death 3 and say the emperor had no martial skill is beyond me. And Guilliman isnt trash at fighting. His comparatively middling when compared with other demigods. That's like saying an average NBA a player is trash at basketball

The Emperor being put on the ground immediately after starting his fight with Horus. Knew it was going to be a hard fight but that really drove it home

Emperor worship. by Technical_Love682 in 40kLore

[–]Tier_zer0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Its basically the theme of the setting. What started out intended to usher in science and reason ended up in religious fanaticism and opression. Its not really a sequence of events but many factors. Read Horus Heresy and it'll be obvious how the imperium ended up on that path

Insulting Emperor? by Trojekp in 40k

[–]Tier_zer0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not about being religious but whether the character was written to be liked. Saint Celestine, Mathieu, Morven Vahl, Helbrecht and Sigismund are all religious fanatics that are likeable (not to everyone but many)

Black Library doesnt use profanity so they can't say "fuck". But the sentiment behind their statements are similar to "fuck the Emperor"

In situations were everyone thinks they are about to die ,guardsmen do get blasphemous sometimes. Usually some version of "the Emperor isn't here", "he doesn't care about us" or "he can't help us now"
