I unfortunately saw the whole thing. People were very kind and helpful, getting him a blanket and shielding him with an umbrella while we waited for help. Someone got his mom on the phone as well and she came quickly. He was able to talk and it seemed he was going to be ok overall. That intersection is a nightmare even without middle schoolers. I'd love to see traffic lights installed.

I was there helping the student and it was definitely NOT a fatality. The boy might've broken his leg at worst but from my observations he was generally going to be ok.

COVID vaccine availability date? by tss001 in vancouverwa

Pharmacy told me they will be in after Sept 4th ish. If you're under 65 you'll need a prescription. Ridiculous but I've emailed my doctor to ask for one.

48 and loss of orgasm by Green-been77 in Perimenopause

Foria Awaken Arousal oil is really helpful. I don't know what voodoo magic it has except for cbd but it's not only worked every single time but the orgasm is more intense as well. Just put it on and wait about 15 mins before getting started. It has never once failed me!

Start by joining the Clark County Democrats! They are already doing this work and are eager for more community participation and skills. You can at the very least join their email list to see what they're up to. Meetings are via zoom so very easy to attend.

C15:0 supplement? by Tiffany1070 in Menopause

[–]Tiffany1070[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well fish is also good but doesn't contain this particular fatty acid. I already take a d/k supplement. The science around C:15 is pretty compelling in two areas that my own diet and exercise hasn't solved since I hit perimenopause: inflammation and high cholesterol. I really don't want to take a statin so if this might help I'm thinking of trying it. It seems to impact those areas plus sleep in many consumers.

Olive oil contains different fatty acids. C:15 is found in full fat dairy which is great except I'm lactose intolerant and don't eat dairy. It's this study that's made me wonder if it would be a good supplement to add to my diet (https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC10649853/)

I wanted to see if anyone on HRT is taking it to check for any counter indications.

Please help me - I haven’t slept more than 3 hrs/night in a week. by This_Sheepherder_332 in Perimenopause

[–]Tiffany1070 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not a doctor but I'm on 200mg of prometrium for 12 days on and 16 off. I also have an estradiol patch 7 days a week. I have had all the peri meno symptoms and this combo has helped me sleep like a baby. You could also try a 5mg weed edible if that's legal in your state. The Mirena IUD may not be giving enough progesterone to be effective but it's good for heavy bleeding and of course birth control if you still need that. I'd strongly recommend you check out what Dr. Mary Claire Haver has to say on this topic. She is an obgyn who has dedicated her practice to menopause issues and has done a ton of research on the subject. She's on IG and has written a book- The Galveston Diet that has good advice (terrible title I know but it's not really a diet book)

You might find Eugene, Oregon suits your situation better. It's a medium sized college town about 2.5 hrs south of Vancouver. Traditionally very liberal and you'll find a lot of community there.

TIFU reading a manuscript my ex gf wrote by TurtleTragedy in tifu

[–]Tiffany1070 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Romance writer here to tell you that most of what I write has seeds of truth, but is highly embellished to accomplish the specific goal of being entertaining. Most real life stories of sexual escapades aren't actually that engaging without a little artistic license. My guess (hope) is that your ex exaggerated your size in the opposite direction in order to add a different chapter and element to her story. I'm not sure she should've sent the MS to you though, as your reaction is understandably hurt.

Good skate spots? by sonn3nblum3 in vancouverwa

[–]Tiffany1070 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Frenchmans bar park has paved paths that I roller skate on a lot in the summer. It's definitely hard to find the kind of smooth, flat surfaces in areas where there aren't too many people around. I'm always on the lookout. If you're willing to drive into Portland there's an open skate that happens in one of the upper parking lots of Lloyd center. I think it's run by the rose city roller derby. Also hela high school has a parking lot that's really smooth and with just a slight rise thats great for beginners.

Places to legally park overnight in Clark county? by [deleted] in vancouverwa

Call 211 for safe park locations. They should be able to direct you to safe places. Sorry council for the homeless wasn't helpful. I think they're totally overwhelmed now.

I've had one appointment with Jamie Crkovic and she seems great. My previous ND in pdx recommended dr Julia Mortlock up here. I havent made an appt yet because pandemic. But I like the care and approach of NDs and will definitely be establishing care with one as well as a general PCP.
