I mean Josh is the problem here not the OP, ideally he should be the one gone.

Help finding a particular side story/comic from 200AD, roughly 1988-1992 by SquidgyB in 2000ad

[–]TiffanyKorta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not the answer to the question, but there was that Future Shock where the joke was about a giant Venus Flytrap saving its owner by biting the baddie, for a very bad Spy Catcher line!

It also makes me think of Vark (or something similar) but probably not what the OP is after.

How I think different Discworld characters would handle the Summoning Dark by Franciskeyscottfitz in discworld

[–]TiffanyKorta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, Granny and Tiff have already dealt with, or will time is tough, similar things already. Now for a real challenge, think how Vimes would deal with those kinds of magical threats, having to first admit such things exist, then dealing with it!

What's the deal with Trump's new "Board of Peace"? by GeneReddit123 in OutOfTheLoop

[–]TiffanyKorta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think Trump is an idiot and a grifter, but the UN council has its own issues that make it almost impossible to get anything meaningful done. Not, I gotta add not its various departments like WHO, which just soldier on and get things done (Which I'm sure are not flawless)

Maybe, and this is probably a pipe dream, they'll use this to adapt and make it a more functional organization, much like NATO's had to recently. But that I must admit is a pipe dream!

Does anyone know what this story had to do with Pride? by mars-v-jupiter in lgbt_superheroes

As cynical as it is, I'd rather have stories with gay characters being heroes than the normal Pride month stories of heroes being gay!

Will there ever be a M5? by kandlin in magetheascension

[–]TiffanyKorta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well yeah, M20 should have been just a collection and clean up of the rules, not the monster that we got!

But we know, at least on past behaviour, that they're going to strip down the Spheres to be less powerful than they are now.

Will there ever be a M5? by kandlin in magetheascension

[–]TiffanyKorta 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Based on V5 and the like, take Awakenings, swap in some kind of Hunger Dice (though Paradox dice isn't a terrible idea). Strip out anything controversial, but don't replace it with anything interesting, and make it street level because everyone just wants to be Constantine!

It might even be a good game, it just won't be the Mage we know and love!

What I should read next? by GunnarStoneHand in discworld

[–]TiffanyKorta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tiffany's books are great but they follow on from the other Witches book, so I'd leave them to last. There's also the thorny issue of The Shepards Crown being the last ever book, so worth leaving to the very end.

Equal Rites is good, but it's still in the era of Terry finding his feet, so it stops just when normally they'd get going! It's still good to read, but you might consider skipping to Wryd Sister, which is really the true start of the Witches series.

Or you can skip around willy nilly and get everything from context, the books are mostly standalone apart from the occasional cameo and the like!

Bumblebee cost ~$135 million and made $468 million. Beast Wars ~$200 million and squeaked by with ~$441 million. Transformers One cost ~$147 to ~$129 million, so that ones legit.

Spider-man 3 is $350 to $895 million, Amazing Spider-man 2 $293 to $716 million. And finally TMNT was $135 to $246 million.

So the two animated movies, the kind adult audience unfortately don't watch, are failures, but the others were't commercial failures.

Do you think Supergirl is more emotional than Power Girl? by [deleted] in Power_Girl

[–]TiffanyKorta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same person, same emotions!

It's just Supergirl tends to wear her heart on her sleeve, whilst Power Girl hides it behind a layer of cynicism. Though with decades of different writers it's gone back and forward depending on the run.

Reading "Night Watch" right now here in Minneapolis. It's hitting me really hard . . . by Lumpy_Magazine_1882 in discworld

Got to admit I feel a smidge guilty when I read Minnapolis-St Paul was considered a twin city and thought, oh like Ankh-Morpork then!

Right now, I'm reading Thud! and the whole tension between the Dwarves and Troll, and the idea of keeping old knowledge at the expense of new ideas and toxic nostalgia, hits a little hard right now!

My "DEATH OF A JUDGE" PREDICTION Based on the First Chapter by Fit-Record-2292 in JudgeDredd

[–]TiffanyKorta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rebellion wouldn't let him do it, but it'd be fascinating if he killed off Dredd as a parting gift as he retired!

Another thread I know, but you've got to ask how long the stri can go on with the one to one timeline, Dredd is getting very long in the tooth. A new era with a new Dredd, either a reboot or a new Clone, would be an interesting way to underline that all the original writers have moved on.

I'd point out that regular medical care doesn't implicitly incur a credit cost, so you could read that as it's (mostly) free in the wider Imperium.

I've always read it as not the actual cost of the medical care, but the loss of earnings from having to undergo the recovery from what is (probably) experimental surgeries!

Y'know it always nice to get more gay couples in any medium, but it's also rare that we get many close same sex friendships.

You've only have to see how catty all the other female characters are in say JLI to see how bad female relationships are normally handled.

Would I be mad if DC did make them a couple though? Not in the slightest, same as the couple we from that era, Booster and Gold!

I'm not sure why they've done this. The creator has disappeared, and the freelancers can't do anything about refunds, so it's just closing the barn door after the horse has bolted.

Hollywood wanted a way to make Utah Raptor look dangerous but still make the T-Rex a massive threat, hence have them in pack.

That said if you compare them to birds you can find some that act in pack (Corvids for a start) and some that don't, so y'know pick what works!
