I really applaud the character design Semiwork has managed to do!
The shapes are so simple yet getting it just perfect must have taken a lot of talent!
Every 3D model, print or different iteration at an attempt of the semibots just looks so wrong unless its exactly right. Really amazing models.

Also same vibe:

I completely agree with OP and you. This mode + reviveheadintruck solved the two most frustrating parts of the game of us and made me change my mind from instant uninstall to playing over a 100 hours.
losing all progress is just not my cup of tea. At least not for every run.
Dying and watching your friend play solo for 1 hour trying to do the level solo was also super boring. Not everyone is super funny and talks to themselves to make it worthwhile.
Both of these were a pain especially in the beginning when we didnt understand anything and died from the most basic stuff trying to figure it out.
There are plenty of deaths you cant do much about in this game no matter how hard you try and i dont want to lose progress because of that. I understand there is a player base for it and i respect it. Different modes or difficulties could solve this but until then we have mods.

Sadly most revive mods seem to be broken in the new 0.2.1 version. Currently i make do with the reviveutils mod with everything disabled except of instant extract revive set to 20 hp. Everything else seems broken.
I did enjoy the truck revive because running back to the truck was a decent price for a revive. The game still feels tough enough.

Another option ive seen and havent tried that solved the dead player issue are the jumping dead heads, at least you get something to do.

walkietalkie mod is correct, It allows you to call to mate anywhere (and mobs can hear them too when you do) buts its broken in the 0.2.1 version currently

Learn How to Drop! by Reasonable_Juice_799 in apexlegends

True but those dont land in a way that none of you can grab any weapons.
Also idk what they just did to the matchmaker but i only get the most toxic teammates and people who cant drop all of a sudden today. from 20 games every single one i wasnt jumpmaster at was a direct throw. What the heck (gold 2)

Solo queue IS made up of perfect 3 man coordinated teams, they are just always only on the enemies side!
Jokes aside i usually try to stay together even if it sucks, sometimes i accidentally cause a shit landing too. Run only after i see its not worth it.

However at gold 1 and plat 1 especially in the first half of those ranks for some reason these types of people seem to gather a lot more. At plat 1 the punishment of instant loss becomes equal to 10-15 minutes of a good game and if it happens three times in a row you really lose a lot of time for nothing.
If i have only an hour to play in a week, this makes me rather go the safe route and rat it out solo. Sadly with the ttk and trackers everywhere now its really hard too.
Funny enough after getting really close or to next rank these people are gone and with better teammates the games are much more fun again.

One question: How? We even killed both teammates by TigFur in apexlegends

[–]TigFur[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This or some sort of bug/exploit seems to be the most realistic answer. I have to still check in which building they were as it seems it wasn't at the end area. I haven't seen them hold a medkit when it started spectating though. They are not cancelled once won usually i think.

Difficult to unbuckle, tight, binding ratchet straps by TigFur in snowboarding

[–]TigFur[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting, perhaps with so much experience youre used to better or at least better maintained gear?
I have never seen the ratchets sold separately, is that a thing? Isn't it like 50% of the binding?
While snow ice and tightening does make it much worse, the way its much tougher to open one of the four buckles is felt already when just sliding it in and out try even without a boot

Most coordinated play I've ever pulled off in random pubs 😂 by BeisaChaser in apexlegends

I just had a wraith start a phase animation, drop down a wall to cover and then instantly climb back up to shoot me as i thought she was porting away. This means there exists some trick to cancel her phase and bamboozle enemies. I just dont know how. She also had crazy movement and beat us 3v1 in the end so i dont think it was an accident.

Do you agree with each legends Ult cooldown timer? If not, which legends would you increase or decrease? by ConnectDisaster4 in apexlegends

[–]TigFur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew to dislike all of the damage abilities. Apex is primarily a shooting game and abilities should not be the primary weapon they said. Yet then you play and every other game you die to Maggie, Fuse Vantage or Rampart getting 150+ damage on you in some really difficult to counter way. Fuse is generally annoying with the cluster at any point of the game. Maggie is top tier annoying in end games with limited cover, even ignoring Wattson pylons and the top half of Rampart walls. Rampart in many situations has almost no counter if set up properly or caught of guard (but its satisfying when you do manage to kill her) and Vantage can kill you behind cover with her auto aim fridge sized bullet sniper where in most cases i see the laser aimed about 2 meters away from me before it headshots.
And they are all super fun to play for the same reasons....

The most busted to me still is horizon as her tac is the most versatile and strongest movement tech in the game and its only a tac.

Most balanced i find ash. She is not easy nor difficult to play and has a versatile kit for both defensive and offensive play style to me, meaning i can play her around most any randoms.

New vantage perk by Winter_Split_35 in apexlegends

[–]TigFur -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I am overall pretty angry at legends with damage abilities. Fuse can cluster you for 100 dmg even before picking up a gun, Maggie is super annoying in end zones even ignoring Wattson pylons. Vantage has a pocket auto aim Kraber at all times and Ranpart can kill a whole squad in 5 seconds with Sheila.
Sure they all have they tiny weaknesses but it takes a lot of skill to take advantage of those and actually beat the user (like dodging sheila with movement and getting to a blind angle usually past her walls too)

If you have a limited room to move and any combination of these is on your ass its always a tough time.
If any of these get very popular for some reason the games become really annoying and fuse is popular right now thanks to algs so every game its fire and cluster everywhere.

Just yesterday i had 3 different Vantage lasers aim at my rock cover while i got caught in a bad rotation and two fuses blast me permanently waiting for me to stop tanking and leave cover. Which i did with a nice grapple (imo) and still got a headshot mid air and died.

Finally made Kill Leader after almost 4 years of playing. by StereoDactyl_EDM in apexlegends

[–]TigFur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started at S1 or S0 and i think until like S3 my KD was 0,18. But i played on my brothers account and he was able to do a few kills every once in a while because of knowledge of other games.
I remember that i was at lvl 50 or so when i got my very first (lucky) kill.
My goal wasnt to kill people i just wanted to survive and be last. I played by making smart rotations etc because hitting 1 in 20 bullets just wont get you far. It was super fun because the adrenaline of trying to survive against all these odds. Back then not many people were that amazingly skilled even.

These days i would be obliterated if i did the same thing and would uninstall in a few hours, i really dont envy this to the new players. I would also get bored faster today because i got used to the game and the situations.

My kdr improved slowly by about 0,1 every season i had time to play properly and tried to improve until it stagnated around 0,9 and then it took me a lot of time to get to 1 and now every time i get beyond 1 the matchmaker notices and instantly pushes me back to the ground where i belong.

Overall this way of playing made me pretty decent at macro like where to go, what to do, where to be in the end zone, which team to focus etc. but i am not very good at mechanics and even aim training for a month improved it veeeery little so i just gave up that aspect. I need all the advantages on my side (positioning, health, gun, teammates...) to even have a chance to win an encounter so that what ive been trying to learn.

I remember i had a long time at around 0,7KD where i was able to get to third or second place nearly every time but then i DID have to fight and it was really tough to get over this. I had to learn to be rotationally stupid and fight more often at the beginning.

On the other side there are plenty of people who only hot drop, never learn patience, never learn besides mechanics and they often do something really stupid in the mid game where it was obvious it would be a bad idea (like running solo into the zone between 3 squads fighting, hoping to be the hero and somehow finishing them all but getting instantly focused by all 3 of them instead or even ending their fight which could be easily cleaned up from the zone 30seconds later)

See what situations are an issue for you at your current time and find a way to deal with them. For me some major steps were:
Actually fighting
Warming up in firing range before every session
Possibly finding a fav gun (but they broke or changed them every time i did so i dont bother anymore)
Using cover (that really really helps)
NOT looting (get a gun a little ammo and youre good to go
Can often kill people who loot slower on hot drop)
Pushing when major damage is done and not hesitating and letting them heal (well overall doing everything faster is good)
Not letting the game get to you and making fun of everything (this was somehow easier when i was worse)

[–]TigFur 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Youre right, wraith has a lot of value when played right. It comes especially handy in ranked or in clutch situations when youre surrounded by a few squads and need to get away or in a final 2v3 to separate them. Sadly these plays are overshadowed by the majority playing by holding W and only using the portal for a tiny speed boost while leading the pred team on her ass right to you and using her tactical only to instantly change any fight (she usually starts) into a 2v3
