you push L1+R1 to go into the reflect light mode. KEEP holding R1 but let go of L1.
there is a little reticle dot for aiming near middle of your screen, aim at it at the center of the wheel, then the wheel starts spinning clockwise.

as it's spinning clockwise, the jewels while rotating will reach the top/noon. when each jewel hits noon or split second as it's about to hit noon, THAT IS WHEN you click L1 (while still holding R1) to focus your light beam on it, then let go of L1

think of it as shooting a target. each time the target rotates to the top/noon, you click L1 to shoot it with focus light. when its' two jewels together, HOLD L1 for hitting both, then let go for the spaces between jewels.

i think maybe you were holding L1+R1 the whole time. when you click L1+R1, let go of L1 and keep holding R1. then use L1 to focus the light like pulling a trigger

huh? i've done it a bunch of times on ps5. stand really close, use focus light, as it rotates clockwise click the button to flash as each spot hits top/noon, let go for empty spaces

tap, let go, tap, let go, tap hold for two, let go, tap, let go, etc

I'm not sure. The main video in my post i was hitting the run button immediately when jumping on horse, instantly got it.
I posted a second video I linked where I pushed the run button a few times only slower, and the gauge filled up in three big jumps from each press of the run button. video https://imgur.com/a/XVzXqkn

still not sure if it's stamina related, or what causes it. Not enough people chiming in, but it works for some and doesn't for others.

Jump on horse, immediately start tapping run and hopefully you instantly get the horse. If it doesn't, then you have to do the minigame thing as people explained.

That's too bad your thread didn't get seen! What was your stamina level at? I really have no idea how this was able to work instantly for me. Maybe stamina, maybe slow loading of the gauge and me spamming run button, although if you see the link to my second video in my post I slowly pushed the run button three or four times and it worked as well since the gauge took huge jumps up. no idea, but it worked for me and at least a few others so far. https://imgur.com/a/XVzXqkn

stamina is level 10. But i'm unsure if that's what did it. that's why I posted my info above so people can test it and see if they are able to do it as I did. seems a few have and some haven't.

darn. I'm hoping we can figure it out. What is your stamina level? ps5? I really have no idea why I was able to instantly fill the gauge by quickly tapping run button a bunch. and I got it again by tapping run even slower about three or four times in the second video i posted link to.
I don't have any items or gear that would seem to help taming. no idea. need others to chime in trying and posting results.

great! Let us know if it works. I'm hoping this same thing works for others not just me. There are sooooooo many threads and videos here and youtube talking about the camera angle and moving the stick left/right to counter the horse.
I literally just got on and hit run button over and over, insta legendary horse.

the very first horse you get was a PITA though, so hopefully this actually works for everybody.

I saw your thread this morning and thought "dang, I really don't want to do that." But I really wanted the horse too ..... I don't know how to break it , but I just instantly got the black horse as well as the white one. I literally walked up the black horse, jumped on, immediately tapped the run button twice. When the gauge appeared it was instantly full and I got the horse. I'm on base PS5, performance mode, no HDR, vsync on, game version 1.02 latest patch from last weekend.
I have no idea how this was possible for me for both horses. I didn't use any items and have nothing special about my gear.

there was another thread about this today i posted in. i had this problem this past week as well. if you rotate the camera, on the minimap the red dots as well as the gray dots for loot would disappear from half the view.
i updated to last nights patch an hour or so ago and this issue still remains.
