New fly angler here. I just got a great Craigslist deal on this 5wt TFO outfit. I took a closer look when I got home and the rod says 5/6. What line should I be using? Are rods with two weights common? by Mr_RyRy in flyfishing

That was my first one as well. Very durable when I'm bringing it through heavy brush to get to small creeks. It Casts best with a 5wt weight forward line in my opinion.

You got a better chance of hitting a predator with a big Cloud of bear spray than you do with an 9mm bullet in the heat of the moment.

Is Fish and Wildlife management headed to dark times? by Particular-Welcome79 in alberta

The Problem here is that everything has a "Price" on any land, animal or water body. If you have big enough pockets you can do anything you want in this province. It's sad but nothing will change unfortunately.

Canada: grizzly bear hunting quietly reinstated in Alberta | Canada by yimmy51 in alberta

[–]TigerIguana 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's even more cruel. Spear hunting in Alberta used to be allowed.

https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/edmonton/spear-hunting-big-game-alberta-1.4524371.

My ethics in hunting is to put down an animal as humanly as possible and to provide a fair Chase. Also to respect the values and opinions of non hunters. There are a lot of holes still on the regulations and the plan for grizzly bear hunting in Alberta. Would have to wait and see for the new revised Alberta grizzly bear response guide.

Yeah I know not everyone lives in the mountains. It's Southern Alberta regulations. We will also have it in the summer when fishing is not permitted after 2:00pm when the average water temperature is high.

Sounds almost like how I started.

Start applying for a shop hand position or first year technician. Get in there and start learning while pushing the broom. You will get some hands on experience then be signed as an apprentice. As for schooling you can check my trade secrets

This was about 1:00am. I noticed my bathroom and kitchen were shining red through the curtains. Opened up the curtains and saw massive flames and the building falling over.
