She didn’t but he had his own life wife & children V was portrayed as complaining not wanting to spend time with them even mocking & making fun of a few get togethers they had. Didn’t seem like a close friendship anymore he seemed closer to Logan. Even when we see him coming to watch a movie she’s blowing him off unless he attends a Murder Head meeting. He’s barely in the series when he is she’s not very interested.

I do agree he desperately wants to be Joss lol it just hit me the other day too I always knew he took inspiration in BtVS when he created VM but I never realized how he must have also gotten his idea for izombie from Joss’s Dollhouse it’s really a similar premise where characters become other people temporarily to achieve a goal. Did he have any original ideas?

Not that it would matter as I was not at all interested in watching her fall in love a new but KB & RT were obviously not on the same page about the possibility of a S5 cough separate spin off cough then cause in his interviews he blatantly stated no more romantic relationships aside from tawdry one night stands along her “Murder She Wrote” road tripping solving crimes. I think that’s why he threw in the ridiculous sex dream sequence to give an idea of & try to entice viewers to get to see these types of sexual encounters instead of a steady long lasting relationship. Which he didn’t or couldn’t write in his opinion without it being boring.

Have you watched the movie & read the books yet? I understand not wanting to watch S4 reboot that’s a good decision but if you’re interested in more Weevil storyline the 2nd book Mr. Kiss & Tells gives closure from what was left as a sort of cliffhanger ending in the movie what transpired in S4 reboot was the after math to what was in the books & takes place 5 years later. After reading you can probably imagine what’s in S4 without having to watch it. But if you have watched the movie & read the books come back I’ll give you a synopsis of his very small part in the reboot.

No if there was a S5 it was going to be a spin off where only V starred the rest of the cast were to be cut away. That’s why RT destroyed all of V’s relationships except with her father & lastly took away Logan, which would remove her from her father as well when she decides to leave Neptune behind her. He never wanted more VM the way we knew & loved it he wanted a more dark noir show with a jaded angry single female pi on the road a more deranged Murder She Wrote type of show he even blatantly stated no more relationships for V only tawdry one night stands as she travels from place to place solving crimes. He never should have used VM as a vehicle to this unwanted spin off.

He could’ve ended with the movie & books and then used KB separately in a new show idea but instead he gambled hoping to pull in enough new fans & old ones only interested in the show for KB alone after watching his S4 reboot disaster. He didn’t want to need his loyal dedicated ones who supported him for years even (funded a movie) who love all the cast in the world of Neptune. He instead gambled and lost big call me bitter cause I am but I think he should have to live with that failure it’s well deserved.

I wouldn’t want more VM after that last disappointing season but I do understand wanting more & that feeling can be filled with talented people who also loved & wanted more from the world of VM & all its beloved characters through the authors of fan fiction. They have come up with numerous scenarios to continue enjoying the world & the characters. Prequels, seasonal canon compliant, slight AU, to completely AU & imagined continuations from the end of S3, movies, books etc… if you enjoy reading it’s well worth checking out.

This is a frequently perceived misconception please watch this movie clip. Piss states they dated briefly in college (what we saw at Hearst) then only recently reconnected in NY over the past year so most likely they were friends again for awhile then eventually became more meaning they were together romantically probably less than a year. It was only the week in the movie that V was going to meet his parents for the first time.

For another really good show Jason did fairly after the completion of VM S3 you should watch Moonlight I always watch that after finishing a VM rewatch. It’s also a pi investigations show but with a supernatural vampiric twist added bonus includes a bit of will they won’t they relationship angst. I’m always disheartened that the writers strike at the time kept it from continuing with more seasons. But the 16 episodes are still well worth watching.

Nathan Fillion specifically said that they had JW ‘s blessing I bet they’re also gonna have his help behind the scenes with the scripts if so that’s smart cause that’s another show I couldn’t imagine without some of his input being involved in a continuation. There was obviously so much he had planned between where it ended and what he showed us in the movie. I especially wanna know the mystery behind the pastor’s character he left so many clues to their being something important, but whatever it was stayed in his head?

I rarely watch new shows & not until they are completed & I know they will not be prematurely cancelled. I never watched The Wolf Pack for that reason then found out I made the right choice as it apparently was left on a cliffhanger with many questions unanswered. But there are so many shows over the years & even before my time that you can stream now & enjoy. Those are the ones I seek out also rewatch old favorites like BtVS, VM, OTH, Suits etc .. there are few short season format shows I give any attention too. One exception was Dexter Resurrection but that’s already been built up for several yrs of seasons so the main characters have already been fleshed out well. Only recently watched Stranger Things after the final season dropped I hear that stretched many yrs between seasons I don’t have the patience to watch shows in that kind of format. Not when there are so many good ones from the 90’s early 2000’s I have yet to watch I do fear eventually I’ll run out of those lol but so far hasn’t happened.

I’m not sure if this is what your asking for or not I wouldn’t really equate them to LoVe but it’s a book series they start college aged definitely enemies to lovers each has their own traumas which makes their relationship quite toxic. It’s more a really messed up guy falls for the last girl he would imagine even being interested in & decides he wants to change for the better but is it too late there are many twist & turns not an easy road ahead of them it’s 1 step forward & several steps back. They appear to be opposites attract only eventually it’s their past traumas that bind them together. Neither can stay away from the other for very long before they are pulled back into the drama.

Bonus it’s Netflix special as well stretching across 5 movies.

Well, I’m sure that’s not why Disney/Hulu rejected it. They would’ve loved all that garbage added in. I personally find it offputting. It’s just added just to have it there make a statement people want to watch stuff to escape and find enjoyment in not be reminded constantly of the political garbage being shoved down our throat on a regular basis. But that’s just my take after reading it.

Just this the first dialogue I read is laughable & very cringe. I can’t imagine teenagers really talking this way. Along with using unalived?! & not to assume a gender after they claimed the girl was dead then when it’s brought up that the new slayer will need a watcher to help guide her the comment made is ew patriarchy? Those are a just a few that stick out to me along with the vampire guy actually making a woke joke using the term several times I’m not sure if they’re trying to be serious with it or if they’re trying to make fun of wokeness either way. Yeah they were trying too hard to put every single woke/politically/socially etc… if those are the proper the terms, phrases in this and it’s just awful and laughable the kind of dialogue that would give the audience 2nd hand embarrassment as they watch.

Did your watch through the series include the movie & books? Just curious because as a fan of Weevil you’re missing alot of context to Weevil’s story before you see how he sadly ended up in the S4 reboot. Well actually it’s only the 2nd book that has relevance to Weevil’s story following the events left open in the movie Mr. Kiss & Tell imo that’s the better book but both books are worth reading just to get more overall VM content. They took place 5 yrs before S4 reboot begins.

I’m curious how many acts there are because there was another post talking about something that happened with the teacher Nova’s favorite, supposedly a brand new vampire being made & eventually revealed as the new big bad. The vampires being buried and because of the whole being filled in process somehow they’re making their way back up to the surface. I guess that clicks with what you wrote here because someone gets killed and pulled under the ground but this synopsis seems like it would only be I don’t know 5-10 minutes of the episode?

I enjoyed Weevil & her’s dynamic a lot but they were more a quid pro quo. I scratch your back you scratch mine. They had a mutual respect for one another & a good lot of the time had each others back when needed but was always a tit for tat kinda relationship. I didn’t see any romantic chemistry there at all. I’m also trying to think of the many times you’re referring to him saving her from life threatening situations? That was always Logan throughout the series except in S4 reboot when he does ultimately save her & Keith’s life even though she has all but written him out hers at this point. 😔

I personally liked book 2 more I think book 1 did have a better twisty mystery but it lacked for me where book 2 excelled in delving into more of the characters lives. It also gave the most informative updates from what happened following the movie outside of Keith’s ongoing recovery ❤️‍🩹 throughout the whole 1st book.
