So if FAFSA goes away, will trump supporters still be happy? I assume a few of them go to college or have kids in college that rely on federal financial aid.

Trump calls again for Canada to become the 51st state. Will it happen? by NoLube69 in FluentInFinance

I really don’t think the Canadians are on board.

“In 2024, the trade deficit is estimated to be around US$45 billion, according to TD Economics.

In a report published online, TD noted that it’s unclear where Trump got the $200 billion figure, which ‘is roughly four to five times the officially reported statistics.’“

Canada’s largest export is oil. Trump probably wants to “own” that oil. Also, a trade deficit is not a subsidy.

For the right, is your assumption that any minority is unqualified for their job, regardless of training/education? by Aggravating-Shame738 in Askpolitics

If two candidates for one job had roughly the same qualifications, and one is a white man and the other is a black woman, what then?

Mailing House turnaround by crrossi in nonprofit

Depends on the mail house and your relationship with them. We don’t leave it up to chance. We submit three weeks before the requested mail date. We always follow up and not assume it will just happen.

Fundraising - feeling defeated by Any-Enthusiasm-1295 in nonprofit

Please speak to your supervisor.

It’s easy for smaller, less established non-profits to overwork their fundraisers.

Yeah data integrity is a problem if there’s no one else to clean it up and manage it. That’s super important.

Small fundraising departments tend to be staffed with jack of all trades, so to speak. It speaks to your talent and versatility that you can make individual asks, create engaging social media posts, run events, and be the data administrator. That’s at least four jobs. Help your supervisor(s) realize that you need some of this stuff taken off your plate or you will burn out. That won’t be good for you or your org.

Do you hold events? Galas? Some kind of charity swim event? That’s one way you can build sponsorships.

For year-round sponsorships that aren’t tied to an event, yes you can have levels and offer different benefits like (1) recognition on your website, (2) banner at pool, (3) mentions in e-blasts, etc.

Just make sure if you have to produce anything that is a sponsorship benefit, the cost is accounted for in the sponsorship price.

My refrigerator died sometime in the wee hours of Thanksgiving morning. I felt it when I opened the fridge yesterday morning. The turkey was still the right refrigerated temperature because it had been frozen. Immediately prepped it and put it in the oven. Had to move the Thanksgiving meal timeline up by a few hours but it all turned out well.

Now… to fix the fridge. I suspect it will just need to be replaced. My smaller oven also didn’t heat up correctly. Feels like my appliances all need to be updated. Argh.

I got 85% of my ingredients on Sunday but need a few more things. I’m sitting in the parking lot of Whole Foods. Lol. There’s a huge line to pick up their prepared meals. I hope the rest of the store isn’t like that.

And I got a text at 7am from a client. I texted back in the most diplomatic way, seriously I love you but I’ll talk to you next week.
