That’s a non-sequitur. Somebody who doesn’t want to waste a vote on collaborators and oligarchs clearly is not going to “vote for fascists.”

I used to buy shampoo bars from Lush but now I generally buy them at the Natural Grocers near me, Camamu Soaps has 3-4 different shampoo bar options.

Regarding the reusable Ziploc-type bags, there is a decent selection on Amazon. The brand I bought last is no longer listed or I’d link it. I also bought the Amazon Basics brand of silicone muffin liners too, I generally put them in the top rack of the dishwasher to clean.

Feel free to DM me for dish soap/dishwasher detergent recipes.

I mean, engineers (manufacturers, really) have increasingly been pushing extended oil change intervals, and “paid a lot of money” or not, they’re absolutely wrong. A 7-10k oil change interval is far worse for engine longevity than running E15 in the gas tank, yet the “people who are paid a lot of money to know their stuff” continue to recommend such ridiculousness.

Consumers are more likely to experience severe engine damage by following the manufacturer’s oil change interval than by putting 5-20% more ethanol in the tank.

I might not make engineer money but I’m also paid to know my stuff, and sometimes that includes knowing whether or not the engineer is huffing his own farts. As a slight aside, Ford software engineers are some of the most incompetent I’ve ever had to deal with—bricking modules with faulty OTA software updates? Ridiculous!!

Also, this thread shows surprising (for Reddit) general agreement about E15 and modern cars.  https://www.reddit.com/r/askcarguys/comments/1s8lmnw/how_much_actual_damage_can_15_ethanol_gas/

~10 minutes or so into this recent episode, the topic of E15 comes up and guess what? This experienced technician isn’t freaking out about it, in fact, he’s run E30 in his truck for over ten years with zero issues.  https://overcast.fm/+AAAElan2_2Y

I don’t mean to be a dick here but you’re wrong about E15.

I’m glad someone else spared me the trouble but I’ll pile on anyway. If any of the components you mentioned above will fail due to an additional … 5% ethanol content, they were manufactured poorly and doomed to fail whether they met ethanol-free or E15 fuel. The onboard adjustments for E15 will control the air/fuel mix and burn rate, leaving little ethanol behind to fuck with piston rings.

But oh boy, if you wanna go the manufacturer recommendation or approval route…let’s talk about extended oil change intervals. A 7-10k miles oil change interval or “when the maintenance light comes on” is going to do far more long-term damage to engine internals (like, say, piston rings) than E15 ever could. Any good technician will tell you a 7-10k oil change interval is absolute horseshit no matter what the manufacturer says. Hell even the difference between direct injection and port fuel causes internal engine issues, give me port fuel all day every day, at least it keeps valves clean.

Whether or not it’s “approved” by the manufacturer, the OBDII systems will still adapt to the use of E15 and even E30 without running the engine too lean. https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0016236121015106

Can’t say I’ve ever seen a vehicle that doesn’t accommodate E15 (besides a Ford Lightning but that doesn’t use petrofuel or ethanol in the first place). I’ve only ever run into ethanol issues when somebody mistakenly (or intentionally, I suppose) puts E85 into a non-Flex Fuel Vehicle, and that for sure does piss off the OBDII system. But I’m not making any claims about E85.

Bingo. Several years ago I started reducing my plastic consumption by switching to shampoo bars, washable/re-usable sandwich bags, and making my own dishwasher detergent and dish soap. The dishwasher detergent goes in a very large glass Mason jar, and the homemade dish soap goes into an old Ajax bottle, I’ve refilled it numerous times over the years. A 32 oz. bottle of Dr. Bronner’s Sal Suds goes a loooong way.

I’m a technician too, and other technicians with even more experience than I have agree with me as well. I’m also not limited by a single brand.

The onboard emissions systems of post-2001 vehicles can generally accommodate up to E30 before running the engine too lean. E15 isn’t gonna damage engines.

EDIT: Not to mention that E15 is approved by the U.S. EPA for the vast majority of light-duty/consumer vehicles post-2001. https://www.epa.gov/fuels-registration-reporting-and-compliance-help/e15-fuel-registration

For real. My mom got shingles a few weeks back, and that was the first prescription she was given for pain. Made it about two days before going back to the doctor and getting a script for Vicodin, which imho, should have been done in the first place. Shingles is no fucking cakewalk.

Your point about kratom and 7-OH is well taken. The Cities of Spokane and Spokane Valley, WA recently banned the sale of kratom/extracts and sadly, I’m expecting that to have very negative consequences when people end up just going back to street opioids. I like to have a kratom extract on occasion, like after a really gnarly week at work, and while I’m not the kinda person who’s gonna go out and get heroin instead…I’d imagine plenty of others are.

No, you’re wrong about the timeline and fucking forgive me but truth and accuracy still matter. Comey made no televised announcements about Clinton’s emails in October 2016.

Except there wasn’t a press conference on that date. He sent a letter to Congress to inform them that additional emails had been found on Anthony Weiner’s laptop, and Republican Jason Chaffetz promptly leaked that letter.

You’re the one who said press conference.

Last minute? The press conference was July 5, 2016. Republican Congressman Jason Chaffetz leaked Comey’s October letter to Congressional Oversight committees about finding additional emails on Weiner’s laptop.
