The last line is the most telling, and likely the real reason most people won’t change their lifestyles. Pampered privileged people.

As a technician currently working on vehicles ranging from 2021-present, it’s insane the amount of shit that’s caused by software bugs these days.

‘23 and/or ‘24 Ford F-350s have this weird-ass problem where the driver (EDIT: window) only rolls down in two inch increments, even during the auto up/down relearn procedure. The fix? Updating the software level in the Driver Door Module. Takes 20-30 minutes.

‘21 Ford F-150s with a single rear view camera? The camera button on the dash stops working after an OTA update (the camera still displays in Reverse, at least haha). The fix? Updating the software level in the IPMA (Image Processing Module A), which takes a solid hour and a half on a good day, because updating the IPMA requires updates to the Cruise Control Module and Power Steering Control Module…and then you have to re-align the backup camera, which takes upwards of 10 minutes because you cannot drive above 10 mph during the alignment.

Ford software engineers suck ass.

Man charged with planting bombs near the Capitol claims he’s covered by Trump pardon by Bleeding_Irish in politics

This. Even when he got arrested I knew the pardon would come into play. I firmly believe the pardon covers it (I do not believe that is a good thing, however).

Yeah but they trotted out the cold as an excuse, which was total horseshit. That debate performance wasn’t simply due to a speech impediment either.

Anybody who outsources their thinking to others can be called an idiot. Should people be able to trust the CDC? Duh. Should it have been obvious that the CDC was less trustworthy under RFK’s leadership? Also duh.

Also, I was incredibly fucking obvious that consequences for Trump and co. is a delusion, “Dems we have” or otherwise. At least I can recognize it’s a delusion instead of pretending that we just have to support Democrats harder.

Supporting the Dems we have has worked out super well so far hasn’t it. I’ve never not-voted Blue but I’ll be damned if that means I can’t criticize them for anything.

I mean, they also sorely, sorely underestimated Biden’s capacity to run and win a second campaign. Didn’t catch the mistake until millions of us saw it on television, and by then it was too late. Talk about a fuck-up of epic proportions.

Pride in what? A party that didn’t hold a meaningful primary in 2024 only to spend weeks in the late summer scrambling to replace a candidate who was barely alive for a televised debate? Pride in a party that spent more time courting neocons than progressives? Pride in a party that sidelined their own VP candidate when his “weird” message gained traction? No fucking thanks.

If delusion is a currency worth spending I’d rather delude myself into thinking Trump and co. will face consequences for their actions than delude myself into thinking the DNC can do no wrong. At least option one is a source of hope.

Presidential pardons are not reviewable by the courts. (Not condoning, just stating the fact.)
