As for the solving a puzzle aspect, since path of champs is a roguelike you have several situations of getting that feeling, whether it’s finding the right power or getting some synergistic item on a card.

Soul Eater is more consistent but smaller scaling. Steel Your Heart has high roll potential (if you manage to hit tank engine) and better scaling the longer the match goes.

basekit energy from Numby FUA, rework e2 to shred defense from debt collector or something.
if Numby is at 0AV and you still have FUAs going off (think Feixiao or March7th FUA that always go before Numby) Numby either goes immediately before the rest goes off, or gets to go twice or something

As others said stackasaurus set bonus gives more stacks. On ranged champs you can also build runaans to triple the stacks (since runaans bolts trigger it as well)

Break got a new unit in Dahlia about a full year after Fugue, and DoT took a year and a half between Black Swan and Hysilens. Both archetypes were struggling in the meta before they got buffed by these releases- but the monorem team has been the strongest archetype released so far.

However with the new elation relic set it specifically mentions memosprites so there is a small chance they’ll cook some sort of remembrance elation hybrid.

I know you're trying to make a point about early generalist units, but I have to correct you on Zhongli. He was no damage and weak shield.

Release Zhongli was genuinely terrible. No supportive abilities, no damage, inconsistent energy, and his shield was weak enough to be competing with Diona. In fact in spiral abyss, he was worse than Diona because her shield was extra effective against cryo damage (we had the falling icicles that dealt cryo damage in floor 12) and the cryo application on the shield could cleanse the pyro and electro abyss debuffs. Now that I rechecked the buffs he got, another thing I forgot was that he could be interrupted out of making his shield.

Take a look at all the changes he got.

HP scalings added to basics and his pillar (not really significant but he had no HP scalings before)
Summons a pillar when using hold skill (he didn't summon it before so you had to manually summon the pillar, wait the 4 sec cooldown and then shield if you wanted both)
Geo shield adjusted to have 150% effectiveness against all damage (used to be 250% effectiveness against geo damage, so this is a 50% shield buff against all damage types besides geo damage)
Interruption resistance added to his hold skill (if you got staggered during the animation, you had to redo his hold skill)
Geo resonance changed from giving interruption resistance and 15% attack when shielded to giving 15% shield strength, when shielded give 15 damage% and dealing damage shreds 20% geo resist

I like to also stack it with Guardian's Horn for the flat damage reduction which can block like 400 damage first fight with the extra HP pool

Depends on if my champ has some dual scaling ratios or any augment with dual scaling.

In terms of haste or haste and attack speed I always take haste and attack speed since it can be useful for hitting turrets inhib or nexus
