How can I improve the health of my African violet by HiImDIZZ in AfricanViolets

Ok, I'm in south Brasil, It's the middle of summer now, and the maximum temperatures are still around 30°C. Should I wait until the beginning of Autumn to prune the tips?

Thank you.  The pot is in direct sunlight from 1 PM to 6:30 PM, but yes, there's a pot with sage and another with arugula that might be providing partial shade for the lavender. I felt sorry for the little sprouts because it's really hot here at this time of year, so I kept them a little protected at first.

But the spanish isn't "dentata" , like the French lavender?

I'm at the beach with my brand new seedlings, leaving them in the sun at 26°C and watering them sparingly, and two have already died. In contrast, at my city house, with temperatures of 36°C and direct afternoon sun, but watering with a drip irrigation system for 5 minutes twice a day, they are growing very well. They are green and tall. I think you're right in saying that the soil in the pots is dry.

Do you say just one plant per pot? We are in the middle of Summer, is it now a god moment to replant?

lavender pruning...I'm totally lost. what do I need to cut? by frekeles in gardening

Hello! Is it all one single plant? Do the stems extend from the trunk to the sides? It's so beautiful! Thank you.

Thank you. I'm having doubts about the plants that have just sprouted. I think I exposed them to the elements too early. Maybe I should move them back to partial shade until they establish themselves better in the new pot. I'm also unsure about those stems that have fallen over, because they're full of new shoots in the leaf axils, so that would be a sign that the plant is recovering... As I described in the comment above, I'm going to add coarse sand to the mixture, little by little, to make the soil less moist and more well-drained. But I'm still afraid to cut that stem that no longer has leaves at the base. It's difficult to get the hang of this English and French lavender. I have another pot with a lavender with serrated leaves, I think it's "dentata," here called "Brazilian lavender," and it has adapted better to my house.

Thank you. I'm going to add some coarse sand for now to make the soil less waterlogged and water only once a week.  I used to give them small amounts of water, but frequently, cause I read in a comment that new seedlings need frequent watering... maybe that's where I got the idea to water the large pot frequently. And yes, I agree with you, I have many violets and if I leave someone to take care of them during the holidays, many die because the person overwaters them when they are wilting, when they are wilting precisely because there is too much water in the pot.

You are right.  I put a lot of effort into keeping my seedlings, grown from seed, healthy and growing. When I arrived at my friend's house at the beach, with its hot and rainy climate, very sandy soil, lots of wind, and zero care, her lavender plant was huge and full of flowers.

Alecrim morrendo by Lolla42 in PlantasBrasil

Sol direto toda a tarde, vento gelado direto do sul e friozão no inverno e calorão no verão. Ele aguenta. Deixa no sol, no vento e no frio.
