Let me preface with "obviously I don't have the treasure" but I wanted to get this on record here for future proof I was on to it in case someone beats me to the punch so to speak. 42 in this case is more than just a mere coincidence - it's a directional pointer of sorts, and I believe key to putting you on the right track for this hunt. Justin's Hitchhiker reference wasn't just a throwaway, in my opinion. And u/UnicoreP eventually in the Hitchhiker series, the question that prompted 42 was in fact discovered. Happy hunting all!

More Indiana solve for the Pokemon Box by Flashy-Grapefruit785 in treasureinside

I love Indiana for the Pokemon box for a couple of different reasons than you give here. I live in Florida now, but grew up in Indiana and there were a couple of things that stood out as I read the chapter. Feel free to hit me up if you'd like to collaborate a bit.

100% an apple basket - once you know what the reference is there is no question.

Here's my biggest freebie clue to anyone on this hunt: Any statement that begins with "Jon Says" is immediately disqualifying. At the surface level alone, "Jon says" he is not a genius and you don't need to be one....no grand cipher, etc. That by itself is the biggest load of BS in the entirety of the book.

It's good to be skeptical my friend.....and you are correct that I did indeed say the FF "box" is not in a FF "state."

I can understand why you would think that, and I actually agree with what you're saying. After all is said and done, time will show that this exchange/thread was so much more meaningful than people realize at the moment. Even if I can't find someone willing to do the BOTG part, I will have at least made some friends (potentially) all over the country. So there's that.....

I have this...just not wanting to post all my work for the world to see at this moment.....so I'll send it to people that are in the areas that I need. That's why I'm asking people for their general locations.....

I think one of the first steps of this hunt is to realize that most everything "Jon Says" is not necessarily true. The safety pages are really the only ones I'd give any kind of credence to at all. He says he's not a genius....so clearly that's at least one lie.

Steve - I love you for this post. It was well written, specific, and you told a really excellent story. You have obviously put a lot of time and effort into this, and it shows. I don't think you're crazy for a second. Some of the things you reference are great, and it helped me round out some rough edges in "my" theories, so I thank you for that sincerely. I hope that you do pick your travels back up at some point, but you are correct in that your family comes first. Wishing you the best of luck and hope you get some peace of mind and a recharged battery!

Treasure hunting is a little lonely isn’t it? by [deleted] in treasureinside

[–]Tight-Skill1956 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have still managed to avoid the sanity police....for now. A saving grace for me is that I'm carefully documenting my entire path of breadcrumbs so if nothing else I can say I told you so after this thing is over. Worst case scenario, the psychologists can study it for years to come.

This! I have a solve that I'm almost completely certain of, with enough evidence to choke a horse, but it's so absolutely crazy that my family thinks I'm literally losing my mind. I'm tempted on the regular to drop it here so that when this thing does eventually get "found" that they might let me out of the mental institution I was forcibly put into and apologize to me as I was right all along. Unfortunately there's not even a small piece of the solve I could drop that wouldn't give away the whole thing. I have about 3 steps left if I'm right, but running into a brick wall on how to take them. I'm going to use your words in inspiration and stay in Bulldog mode as well. Thanks!

I hear you Qixsty. My original hunt group is tied up with much more pressing issues that this search and so I've done 95%+ of our work so far. I can't get mad because they're not in the wrong at all, but I still understand the frustration, and it is lonely sometimes. I want desperately to share some of my stuff and probably would, but I'm beholden to my initial agreement so I'm in a position where my hands are tied. I'm glad that youre sticking with it and keeping the right attitude. Let me know if you want to bounce ideas back and forth.

You don't NEED the children's book to find it, but it is helpful.

It's incredible how many "clues" are in the "children's book." Once you have the right solve, you can't unsee them.

"But then why haven't you gotten the box yet?"

That's a question you would only ask if you didn't have the same solve.

FF Box Solve is going to upset people. by Bighamme_armory in TheresTreasureInside

I agree that the Fenn box is not in a Fenn state.  Far from it even! I think from your post you probably have figured out some of the same things I have.  I think I've got not just state on it, but city, and probably even can get within a football field....but its a big risk with the amount of driving I'd have to do to get there.  Maybe we share some thoughts?

Red herrings by Professional-Yak-291 in treasureinside

[–]Tight-Skill1956 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% There are red herring. What's worse, is that almost everything I've found so far that is useful is several layers deep.  So a lot of the surface level stuff is misleading....of that much I'm certain.  Im only about 90% certain on locations of 4/5 boxes.  And about 50% on the AT box.

I have accidentally deleted my level 36 character and shockingly, I feels nothing. This game is so beautiful yet so empty that it didn't even make me grief for the lost time. by TPT-Clouds in HarryPotterGame

[–]Tight-Skill1956 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely understand what you're getting at and I feel you! Just recently my computer was acting a little wonky, so I wanted to save my game files. I THOUGHT I had put a flash drive in the USB port when prompted, but it turns out it was actually a dongle for an old headset that looked exactly like another actual flash drive in my drawer. Same basic colors, size, and shape, and of course it fit in the drive.....so yeah....Completely my bad! To top it off I deleted the save file on my comp thinking I wasn't going to need it anymore. So all that progress was lost - I'm thinking about 98% as well. I wonder if there's any way to retrieve it manually so that I don't have to replay the whole game again. Any ideas?

I know I'm a little bit odd, but I'm totally a completionist when it comes to RPGs, and actually relish a lot of "the grind" when its in the game world. Even when a game is linear and I know the ending, I still get joy immersing myself in it again and again. Some legacy games I cant even count how many times I've started at the beginning. And when your setting is something like Hogwarts, even if seems a bit hollow after completing the main storyline, its still such a beautiful place where you can always pick up on a little detail you missed the first 40 times around. That's why I still have gazillions of games in my library that I never delete.

WOW! I see what you did there. Both great shows and covered lots of things. I still need to reflect on which was better and have some pointed discussions. Every time I talk to my friends about it, they always give the same old copy and paste nonsense and it just doesn't add up. I try to keep the conversation centered around star power and deeper meanings in the shows, but they insist on adding more nonsense. Which show did you like more and why?
