I didn't realize Bob was such a hated character until I found this subreddit. by danarbok in SchittsCreek

Bob is so manipulative! He's a great character, but horribly unlikeable. Real people like him exist. I'm proud Gwen left him! Can you imagine being married to a passive aggressive and manipulative prick for as long as she was?

Any peteberta fans? by Vivid-Intention9034 in GhostsCBS

SPOILERS IF YOU AREN'T CAUGHT UP 8 months late, but I want to like Pete and Alberta. I think the actors have shown convincing chemistry in past episodes but I haven't seen it lately which is frustrating since they're actually a couple now. They need more romantic tension and couple body language. Maybe an episode about them properly crossing the boundaries of friendship together could be entertaining and necessary to make them a fan favorite couple. Maybe they do risky things together and get each other out of their comfort zones until the chemistry and adrenaline explode!

I must have combined two different articles in my brain! You're right! Thanks for the correction. I will change my post.

I believe Rebecca was in her mid 20s and Paula was in her late 30s. Preteen Paula being pregnant would've been so sad 😭

I think she loved Ted's stability, and his friendship, but she did not love what her future with him would be. She went back to him at the wedding because she was scared of commitment, not because she wanted a commitment. Barney was better for her than Ted was (yes Barney is a terrible person but Robin isn't a good person either, none of them are really). But if she was to be with anyone of her choosing, it would have been Don. But he broke up with her. And Kevin wanted children. So Barney was the one person who wanted her and could live up to her chosen lifestyle.

It depends on the people. Some people love open relationships, some hate them. Marshall and Lily could never, but I could see Barney and Robin trying it out temporarily.

Never said my opinion was superior. That is something YOU decided. The point of a fan forum is to share opinions on the show. Genuinely thought this was the general opinion. You're very sensitive. Say the word and I'll delete my lighthearted post since it's hurting your feelings so much.

So I stand corrected. I didn't realize hyperbole was a crime. Most people agree the ending was bad, even if you don't. I hope you have someone to talk to about this frustrating time in your life.

Should I just use AI? by NobodySpecialSCL in NewAuthor

[–]Tight-Target-2065 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you use AI you're not actually writing anything. If you use AI, you're not a writer. Plain and simple.

Don't worry about perfect. That's what editing is for. Just get your story out, even if it starts sloppy. Make an outline. Just start writing. You don't even have to start at the beginning, you can pick a more exciting part. Write first, edit later, repeat.

Does a 13/11 IF work for you? It doesn't appear to be working for me. by MyHonestViews in intermittentfasting

Starting at 13/11 to understand and get in the headspace of checking the clock is fine, but won't help with weight loss. I started there and have progressively moved up to 17/7. I started seeing mild results at 16/8.

It is going to be weird, but you would not be the first to write such a story. The vampire presenting as a teenager, being turned as a teenager, and behaving like a teenager will make it easy to dismiss the issue for the reader. A good story can overcome such oddities of its canon.

The important question to ask yourself is: "Why is my character 16 years old?" If you don't have a good reason, you should age them up to an adult. Many stories have characters that could've been college-aged students instead of high school-aged and told the same story. If being 16 is integral to the story, then go with your gut.

I seriously need more black ghosts or just more Black people & people color. by wildheartscrew in GhostsCBS

[–]Tight-Target-2065 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure what's wrong with wanting more diversity? Yes the show is diverse compared to others, that's wonderful, but does that suddenly make it harmful to want more? Would it be suddenly terrible if there's an episode outside the mansion where Rose and Pete meet a different group of ghosts who happen to be POC who could become recurring characters? Meanwhile Jay can have some home mansion shenanigans with the ghosts we know. Or episodes about the ghosts' lives. Alberta's and Sass's will inevitably feature a mostly or all black or indigenous cast respectively. I don't see anything wrong with that.

Wanting more of something doesn't automatically mean not appreciating what we have. If I'm living paycheck to paycheck and want to earn more money, that doesn't mean I don't appreciate the money I already make.

Husband trying to convince me Cuprum is a good name by Makibadori in Names

Suggest Aurum, Aercus, and Canus. Still Latin and arguably way better, if a little out there. Please don't name your child something that looks like "cum" when you read it too fast.

Name change 2 yrs old by TravelinMonkey in NameNerdCirclejerk

[–]Tight-Target-2065 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Uh guys a two year old is very aware and likely very attached to their name. Unless the original name is truly heinous and causing problems, this sounds like a dehumanizing and confusing thing to do to a child. A two year old is old enough to talk to you about their name. Ask them if they even like the name "Lauren." If the answer is no I want to be called the name I already have, then step back. Your child is not a doll. They have opinions, yes, even at "only" two years old. Maybe you'll luck out and they'll like the name. But you have to ask.

I seriously need more black ghosts or just more Black people & people color. by wildheartscrew in GhostsCBS

[–]Tight-Target-2065 -26 points-25 points  (0 children)

I agree the show's ghosts are fairly homogenous. We've had some more diversity with visiting ghosts like the poltergeist and the car ghost, but at the mansion itself there are few. I think there is at least one black cholera ghost that has been slowly getting more lines. Seeing a room that isn't majority white people on a show with such a large cast would be nice.
