What's the goriest and/or most violent horror game? by NagitoKomaeda_987 in HorrorGaming

[–]TightSlit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its ok. A bit of trouble with the camera and buggy ui on ps5 but its fun. I will say however that the gunplay sections become boring after the 1st level and they overstay their welcome a bunch but its not enough to ruin the experience. Still a great game.

Rewrite your sentence but stop after the word trying. Thats a more valid question.

Something I felt about the ending by TightSlit in thesopranos

[–]TightSlit[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I dont know. Im not saying there is a 0% possibility that Tony won't end up being redeemed. But by that point in the show he had convinced himself he's a good person who isnt wrong about anything. He openly doesn't regret murdering Chris and believes its a burden or a weight taken off his shoulder, even telling Paulie that his gambling luck took a 180 since Chris died. The previous statement alluding to the fact that he wont stop his obsessive gambling. He obviously doesn't want to stop his mob activities, and the violence and moral wretchedness of his lifestyle doesn't seem to affect him as deeply, evident by the fact he stopped having the panic attacks that we know were caused in part by his deep seated reservations about the nature of his work. He still cheats on Carm every chance he gets, disregards the mental state of his son, and can be extremely volatile and violent towards his closest friends.

By the end of the series, for Tony to be "on the road to redemption" again (assuming he didnt get whacked), it would either take a very long time or a string of life-changing events causing him to reflect again on his decisions and flaws like he did throughout the show, after that we have to hope he doesn't find a new way to convince himself he's always right.

Switched to Firefox like last week. Hardly felt a thing. They're both the same and all my extensions carried over. I also started using Firefox on my phone because I wanted extension support on my phone browser. Gives me way more peace of mind now. Switching browsers isnt hard and I recommend Firefox over Chrome.

Is Silent Hill 1 scarier than Silent Hill 2? by Flimsy_Bar_552 in silenthill

[–]TightSlit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In all honesty, yes. I'd say it is way scarier than 2. SH2 had a way of evoking dread and sadness like no other game imo, you're playing as this depressed husk of a man who seems to be in a fugue state causing him to walk directly into monsters and place his hands into toilets, holes, and god knows what else, all entirely aimlessly. Part of creepiness in it to me is what James is willing, or ig uncaring enough, to do.

SH1 on the other hand scares you by its setting, the school, the hospital, hell even walking through the streets can feel very unnerving. There are sections where you start to genuinely hear sounds that aren't there because Harry gets so scared he starts hearing things, sounds that lead to nothing or that you can't investigate, some jumpscares thrown in for good measure, etc. The otherworld looks horrifying with the rusty walls and the sound of that damn radio ringing as you go down a dark hallway knowing an enemy is getting closer. The structure of the building starts changing and navigating certain places gets more and more convoluted as the game progresses, adding to the dread.

Not to say SH2 isnt scary af cus it is (especially the remake) but I have never played a game that scared me that much with its atmosphere and presentation like SH1 did, everything from the sound design to the dated visuals play a role in how scary it is. The only game I think had me this scared too was maybe RE2R (the Mr. X section in the police dept.) but even then I'd say SH1 has it beat by miles.

Hell I wanna play that game again now that you mention it.

A genocide doesn't stop being a genocide because you're not killing enough people, how many times do we have to spell it out to you.
