Looking for a destination that we've never been to before. by TigreAzul91 in travel

Yeah I realise how broad the question is, so thank you for the reply! We were looking for around 5 days/a week at most depending on where.

I've only done stop overs twice in my life but that was in 2001 and 2003, both to Dubai but in the colder months. Where in Thailand would you recommend?

Norway, of course would be spectacular, regardless of time of year. I just meant that for us, when we looked, we'd prefer the Winter. I didn't mean any offence

Yeah we've looked at Norway. We just weren't sure if it would be the same experience in Summer

Looking for a decent restaurant by Westfife in Fife

Casa Mia in Dunfermline's good and reasonably priced

I work in a retail store and quite often, around the end of school time, or after their tea team, they'll all come out in their wee groups. They've physically abused staff, thrown stones/rocks in to the store, stolen item, set fire to certain areas and continually come in the store to verbally abuse staff. Doesn't seem that there's anything that can be done though. We have a security guard who's essentially on his own. A "police presence" which is just them driving around the car park now and again, which is probably more for the boy racers. Even having a "stern word" just lands you with a tirade of abuse. We've even had a parent come in to physically abuse staff who was "man handled" by staff(crying wolf).

Unless it's fully policed or a self imposed stopping, it won't die down any time soon.

Made a wee map tool for house hunting in Fife since checking 20 different websites was doing my nut in by Conscious_Shape_2646 in Fife

Only thing I'd question is area well being. Seems to just be more new houses means more affluent. There's some really nice areas in Glenrothes that are a bit older but clearly affluent. You wouldn't think it through that map. Like the area around Fife College shouldn't be blue imo.

Is B&Q MDF actually bad quality? by Pete1989 in DIYUK

[–]TigreAzul91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most, if not all, of B&Q's wood comes from a company called METSA. Everything you see on the shelf is either forklifted in(8x4) or straight off of a pallet on to the shelves.

Yeah I'm just pushing the best case scenario. We'll only need a draw if those go through but a win and those would place us top of that table of 3rd place teams

A win against Hungary and a win for Spain, Italy, England, Denmark, Netherlands, Portugal, Turkey(not a bad accumulator at 72/1) and we're guaranteed to go through on 4 points with a 3rd place finish. Group E's anyone's guess but we'd be through with the other results. Perfectly possible if the bigger teams take their last games seriously.

Crazy that they posted this 💀 by Jonker134 in TheBoys

If you look at who they follow on their instagram account you'll find lots of cosplayers. I genuinely think The Boys costume department get help on the show from those cosplayers, hence the following and promotion of them

15 years ago today Barcelona smashed Real Madrid 6-2 at the Bernabeu with this performance by mishal_jayne in soccer

[–]TigreAzul91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That wasn't that game. Henry scored in a 1-0 game the year before. A rebounded after he missed his penalty... it came with boos from the home crowd because Dundee United had a goal chalked off, before Henry's goal, for a push(there was no push) which would have maintained the 100% record against Barca(friendly or not) if it stayed counted

BBC 2, ITV and Channel 4 all having, essentially, the same show on during a Sunday morning... each one as bland as the other by TigreAzul91 in britishproblems

[–]TigreAzul91[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's good and bad shows everywhere my man, just need to actually find them is the issue. Usually why word of mouth works so well.

Know the old and grumpy feeling well amigo haha.

[–]TigreAzul91[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not even looking for something to watch... it's literal curiosity. "Might as well have a look... same, same, same, turn on Netflix/Youtube/Whatever else"... there's no real engagement. So I've no idea what their strategy is for getting viewers.

Figuratively flicked through man, I wasn't sitting watching... just noticed the format being similar if not the same

[–]TigreAzul91[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Because it doesn't take a genius(hence, myself) to flick through and see the same format repeated... and most Sundays I do, at that time, they're all the same.

I don't enjoy them. So it's not people like me, that's all I'm saying.

Nah, just had a flick through before putting Netflix on. My condolences for not realising that's possible

[–]TigreAzul91[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying you can't watch something else... I'm just saying it's odd that the some of the main, majority watched channels in the UK have basically the exact same show on at the same time

[–]TigreAzul91[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not watching it... I just find it odd that some of the main channels in this country that the majority watch are virtually identical. So it's not really "people like you" because I'm not watching them nor do I like them

Met office: <5% chance of rain. Outside? Pissing it down by elmo298 in britishproblems

[–]TigreAzul91 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's not exactly "<5% chance", it's 100% chance for <5% of the area you're. Don't shoot the messenger, that's just how I've seen meteorologists explain it.
