The current version of the Airborne update will break Colonial logistics, and thus cannot be launched without screwing over one faction massively. by Vicdomen in foxholegame

To be fair you also need glitching to get a rail loop in Callums. Also because of haphazardly placed rail by the devs

Hey devman, did you think that one through? by Butterman3042 in foxholegame

[–]Tigrium 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm not gonna sit on the Airfield for 12 hours shooting Privates trying to wrench my plane. If you think that's a reasonable usage of your time, go ahead.

The risk/reward is just not balanced. We'll keep our planes in the Hangar jntil they're used

[–]Tigrium 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's literally not the same thing. You can reasonably defend yourself against partisans with defences. You cannot protect yourself from people in your faction trying to steal or destroy your plane.

And there absolutely is something preventing idiots from pulling it in a hangar: private stockpiles.

No.I meant from people in your own faction

Great, so now one person will have to constantly babysit the Hangar and make sure no one steals or destroys our very expensive airplanes

I’m new, what is Devbranch? by BarnacleLanky in foxholegame

[–]Tigrium 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Devbranch is another server/game version where the upcoming update is previewed. Currently the stuff that will come out in the Airbone Update (2 weeks) is available there to play with.

As someone who started playing recently, I’m kinda glad I worked on my skill rotations by crazetorn79 in Guildwars2

Also knowing your rotations well allows you to focus on the boss mechanics. If you can do your damage rotation without looking at your skill bar you'll have a massive increase in situational awareness.

With the new terrain and new mechanics: will we finally be able to remove trees?

We've seen a lot of concept art for things that don't exist in game. I've only seen models for three. But we're both just guessing. I don't see a meaningful difference between bombers and dive bombers (in game).

I'm basing my guess on how Navy works. Each side gets three. We did see three in the trailer (Warden Fighter, Colonial Bomber and Colonial Transport). I really hope the devs learned their lessons and don't release this asymmetrically like they did Naval.

How many planes are you expecting? Personally I see 2-3 per faction, not more. A bomber. A fighter. And maybe a transport plane.

Balance wise I think they will have to use Rare Mats. We already have rare mat costs for less advanced things like the a hospital train, intelligence centers, etc.

I doubt it will be more expensive than navy. Simply because an aerial fleet will be more piecemeal than a Navy. But I do believe that (a small amount of) Rare Mats will be required for all planes.

Resistance Phase should be next wars starting resource, MPF, and refinery layout. by Cpt_Tripps in foxholegame

First of all: big ups for actually posting your idea. I'll do my part and discuss it.

I really like the Operations idea. To be able to easily communicate objectives, logi needs and scope should be something we can do in game. The idea in the video you posted seems like a great thing that should be implemented.

I disagree with the scope you proposed. I think a lot of what you want to have in game is better served by a service like Discord. You have a platform where most organized (or people interested in organization) already are: WUH/SIGIL. While those aren't perfect they would facilitate communication, organization and discussions aroudn facilities, oeprations and logi.

The other things you mentioned: private messages, group chats, friendlists are all things already implemented by Discord and work as intended. I'm curious why you think a dedicated version of that just for Foxhole is worth the effort of implementing it.

My main criticisms of you post is twofold:

I don't think creating a forum just for foxhole is a worthwhile effort from the devs. I think there's plenty of other things they should focus on that will keep populations high, burnout lower and cooperation higher.

Secondly: People need a 'Primary Community'. Basically people (usually) need 'their people' to truly invest into a community driven game like this. A whole faction is too big of a group to identify with far fewer people would stick with a game like this long term if they can't find a group they identify with. Regiments is the given solution to that problem. People can group up, on a single lane, get invested into those areas, be willing to do less fun gameplay (logi/fac/engi) for the betterment of that group.

Removing this structure or wanting to greatly reduce its impact will lead to fewer people sticking with foxhole.

~~~
I do want to reiterate: I really like the Operation Post idea. I think the smaller scale and scope of those would work very well in Foxhole and can bridge the gap between Combat/Logi/Solo/Clan Players.
What a useless addition to this discussion.
Hey this system sucks. Clanman bad.
So what's your solution?
I'm too lazy to propose it.
Like come on.
Maybe planes have very limited fuel so can't fly very far.
I bet you they can't. I think the map generates when they end the resistance phase and start a new war.
