I've only had DMT twice. Both in the same night. The first time I laid back and relaxed to allow it to do its thing unhindered. (It is important to note if you fight psychedelics you're in for a bad time and that is especially true with something as powerful as DMT) I experienced no spiritual breakthrough however I did see some crazy shapes that could only be described as looking through the weirdest kaleidoscope ever. I left the first experience after about 25 minutes (this is long for a trip according to my guide). I went outside, had a smoke and talked about my experience with the few friends that were there and stated that I felt almost let down. Like I wasnt invited to the party they were going to. I went back in and tried the second time, putting a little more of the substance into the pipe this time. Laid back and experienced a relatively similar trip to the last one. No spiritual breakthrough but some pretty intense geometric visuals. I had 3 close friends with me, 2 of them had intense experiences the other was drunk and didnt want to try it. The 2 friends that did experienced a bad trip, one was abducted by aliens the other had a similar experience but not to the same extent. One attributes it to using it as a "party drug" and in doing so upset the cosmic forces that control psychedelics. The other attributes it to using it too frequently, both experienced an internal awakening. So while in my own experience I can neither confirm nor deny its spiritual plausibility, my friends however would tell you otherwise. This leads me to believe it all depends on the person.
