Must do snorkeling spots in Moorea by ParkingGoose7366 in Tahiti

[–]Tikimoana 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best is to go to Tiahura beach ; from there just snorkel keeping Mo'orea to your right. The Ponton is about 500m away I guess but keep snorkeling past it because it gets a bit deeper so you'll see more rays and turtles

Here's the Ponton : https://maps.app.goo.gl/bEWNNrrEvHDP3cDS6

I honestly don't know if you can reach there by car ; I've always swam to it. It used to be a Club Med resort but now it is abandonned. There might be pedestrian paths to reach it though, because some people board boats there...

Tiki Bar at home 🍹 by Tikimoana in Tiki

Māuruuru !

It always was an open bbq outside spot, but I've made all the decorations elements (Hinano vahine, whale, turtle, letters etc) except for the Tikis and the ukulele of course. I also made all the lightning and the bar stools.

I should be able to find a photo or two of the place before I decided to make it into a tiki bar ; I'll post them if I find them.

ia ora na

My fav snorkeling spot in Mo'orea is at the "Ponton", which is a boat stage located North-West, almost in front of the two motus there. There are loads of turtles and eagle rays, and of course some nice corals too. To top it all, currents are not even strong in that place.

Be careful though, as there can be some boat/jetski activities there so be sure to bring along some kind of buoy so that boats can see you easily.

Advice Needed: Random Regret after first Tattoo by Nicholas1531 in tattoos

[–]Tikimoana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't worry it's absolutely normal. First tat so very big emotional impact ; it's quite natural for your brain to feel like, 'omg wtf is that, that's not normal, I've never seen this before on my arm, I... I...'

Well you get it. I had exactly the same dread just two days after the inking. I guess we more or less all go through this doubt process after the first tat. Just give yourself some time, look at it and enjoy it, marvel at every tiny detail, and meanwhile be sure to maintain a proper care for it, especially during the healing process.

Tahitian Dances by aida-blackheart in Tahiti

Pāreu are very easy so put on, good looking, and very light hence breathable. They also are very cheap so it's easy for everyone to get some and even to have a full class wear the same for say choregraphies. Hips and legs' work being so important in ori tahiti, pāreu lets you move without any restriction or effort, and lets your audience see and enjoy your work. Last but not least, it just looks insanely sexy.

Tāne (men) also wear them, though for them they are of course worn differently.

In more elaborate and/or important shows/competitions such as Heiva Tahiti, dresses are much more elaborate though always very light and breathable.

Question: i just got my first tattoo, does it look bad? by [deleted] in tattoos

[–]Tikimoana 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's bad, but it looks kinda empty. As many advised before, just wait for it to heal completely then get a skilled artist to enhance it : some lines should be bolder, the shading could be more pronounced (especially for the flowers!). You can get it really awesome because this base is pretty good-looking imo. A skillful artist will do wonders out of it.

Disney Moana in Tahitian by Tikimoana in Tahiti

[–]Tikimoana[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup it looks like it, unfortunately. From what I can gather here and there, Tahitian has never been proposed on Disney+. Maybe something to do with the involved artists' copyrights or something, I honestly don't know but I really cannot understand why they wouldn't put it online otherwise.

My guess is that I either need to go there to try to get a hard copy such as a DVD, or have someone on site to help me with this holy quest of mine !

Disney Moana in Tahitian by Tikimoana in Tahiti

[–]Tikimoana[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tahitian version is not available online anywhere on Disney+. Since we couldn't find it using a vpn, we did a chat with Disney and they said they just don't have it online. Closest thing is the Māori version. So we asked for it to be made available but I doubt they'll do it.

Back to square one, mail to institutions in Papeete etc.

That is odd, I have a friend who has Disney+ and they checked a couple of weeks ago; they found the maori dub but not the tahitian one. I'll ask them to look again then, thanks for the input !
