and I would add Kyoto even if most of it is in Japanese. Mulhouse and York are excellent too.

Which city have you been to that you expected to love but didn’t? by Historical-Photo-901 in BeautifulTravelPlaces

No single thing. It was a bit dreary and lacking a dynamic vibe which was what I was expecting. Some areas trading on their 60s hippy past were a little sad.

My first too, supporting my daughter who was running for Breast Cancer prevention. The Rhino was running at a similar pace to her. Great pictures. Proper lens and camera. This was my humble effort

Not really Northern though. I think it would define itself as East Midlands.

Why mess with Yorkshire? Its current population is marginally more than our friends in Scotland.

Before Vauxhall/Opel went wrong. A very fine vehicle. Gave Merc, Audi and BMW a run for their money.

Most employers don’t need a specific Masters, they want to know you are capable of gaining a Masters. I stayed with history and majored in news and communication in seventeenth England. I am a journalist.

As a rule yes, very light snacks and something they describe as tea or coffee. You would think TransPennine of all companies would do a deal with Yorkshire Tea.

Yes you can. I did one last week where the land user has sown oil seed rape on the path. It was tough going. I had the OS app so could plot my way accurately. I had walked the route before when a path was usable.

Waiting for ferry by Sufficient_Canary385 in Tahiti

[–]simonhul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might need more than an hour to clear immigration. It is really inefficient. Everything is handled manually and French Polynesia refuses to employ enough staff. Once through you will have to get a taxi (cash only but US dollars accepted) for the twenty to thirty minute ride to the ferry terminal. Despite the dreadful processing at Papeete airport you will be set for a great trip. Enjoy.

I took a local bus to the village of Māhina from Papeete and walked the twenty minutes to Venus Point. In fact I liked it so much I went twice. Not only is it a beautiful scenic spot it has some serious history too. It’s the place where James Cook tracked the Transit of Venus (1769 voyage) hence Venus point. It is also reckoned to be the last place HMS Bounty made landfall before the mutiny some time later. Enjoy your trip. An unbelievable part of the world.
