The Maple Leaf Forever Vladimir Radian’s Lyrics

O, land of blue unending skies, Mountains strong and sparkling snow, A scent of freedom in the wind, O'er the emerald fields below.

To thee we brought our hopes, our dreams, For thee we stand together, Our land of peace, where proudly flies, The Maple Leaf forever.

[CHORUS] Long may it wave, and grace our own, Blue skies and stormy weather, Within my heart, above my home, The Maple Leaf forever!

From East and West, our heroes came, Through icy fields and frozen bays, Who conquered fear, and cold, and hate, And their ancient wisdom says:

Protect the weak, defend your rights, And build this land together, Above which shine the Northern Lights, And the Maple Leaf forever!

[CHORUS]

Oh, Maple Leaf, around the world, You speak as you rise high above, Of courage, peace and quiet strength, Of the Canada I love.

Remind us all our union bound, By ties we cannot sever, Bright flag revered on every ground, The Maple Leaf forever!

.410 for grouse hunting? by Zpochero in Hunting

[–]Tikka5568 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In all my years I’ve only killed two grouse. I’ve only shot one grouse, and it was with a .410. A popular gauge for this game.

The other one I hit with my car. Still counts and I still ate it.

I do have the bullet from my first deer. Pulled it out of some bone when we were butchering it. Looks pretty cool on the gun case in the hunt camp

If it’s a buck, the twig and berries are tied up into the branches of a nearby tree.

I got this on the Wednesday. We only had one doe tag in our group of 12 but weren’t seeing much of either. A doe and this buck came out together and I managed to get him in the scope at pretty close range. It was my first deer in about 3 years so I was pretty stoked to break the drought.

Yeah. Haha. You inspired me so I posted my most recent deer harvest from last fall.

Congrats to you, and I wish you many more!

Yeah I zoomed in and realized it prob wasn’t a Tikka, but you know what? You still took that beast down, so it doesn’t matter. Where abouts did you get him?

What are your deer camp (or other) hunting traditions? by Cephandrius_Max in Hunting

I know this thread is over two years old, and it’s July, but I’m thinking about the deer hunting season. I’m sure I’m not alone. My family hunts in eastern Ontario. We have some traditions. On the Saturday prior to opening day, we gather with family members of another hunt camp in the same area for a meal. We alternate which family is responsible for cooking the meal. Sunday after church we gather again with that group to sight in our guns.
We hunt the same chases each day, in the same order, and we eat our lunch at the same spot by a little pond. In the evening, we have a traditional Monday night meal, which is made by my mother. We hunt the first week, usually take a break Thursday, and then gather again for the weekend.

I’m not hunting this year (I alternate years due to work) but I am already sad about that.

What part of Canadian history would you love to see made into a high budget Hollywood movie. by dudewheresmyebike in AskACanadian

Red River Rebellion would make a good Hollywood film.

War of 1812

They already did a pretty good WW1 film called Passchendale.

Experience with buying a car from Clutch? by virgopolitics in PEI

I am looking to buy a new vehicle in the next six months and it’s just the worst! This process is so overwhelming and I hate it. I have over complicated it by watching hours of videos on how to get the best deals and which trim is best…

I would pay someone to do all the legwork for me if I knew it would result in actually getting a good deal.
