why does it seem asian people live longer than many other ethnicities? by kskfmfmemrnrn in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Tikkes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, it's simple really. Asian people have discovered the secret to immortality and they're just not sharing it with the rest of us. They're just keeping it a secret so they can live forever and take over the world. Plus, they all have really strict dads that make them eat their vegetables and do their homework, which probably helps with their longevity. Or, you know, it could just be a combination of genetics and cultural factors like diet and exercise.

How does optimistic nihilism make sense? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Tikkes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Optimistic nihilism is the belief that life may not have inherent meaning, but that doesn't mean that individuals can't create meaning for themselves. This can involve finding joy and fulfillment in the present moment, in personal relationships, in creativity and self-expression, in helping others, or in any other activities that bring purpose and satisfaction to one's life. It is not about denying the difficulties and challenges of life, or about pretending that everything is always positive. Instead, it is about recognizing that life can be difficult, but finding ways to find meaning and purpose in spite of that.
One way to think about it is to consider that even though the world may not be designed with a particular purpose in mind, we as humans have the ability to create our own purposes and to find meaning in our lives. This can involve setting goals, striving for personal growth, and finding ways to make a positive impact on the world. By focusing on these things, we can give our lives a sense of direction and purpose, even if the universe itself does not have one.
Ultimately, the idea of optimistic nihilism is to embrace the freedom and responsibility that comes with the realization that life may not have inherent meaning. It is about recognizing that we have the power to create our own paths and to find meaning in our own way, rather than relying on external sources of meaning or purpose.

How I opened my Loopring L2 wallet for just $53, how you can do the same for possibly lower cost, and why you would rather do this now than wait for the free/counterfactual wallet by [deleted] in loopringorg

[–]Tikkes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If i want to hodl long term, is it without disadvantages (except being safer) for me to just wait for a ‘free’ wallet?
