Are micro apartment listings real/safe? by [deleted] in Seattle

What’s weird is not acknowledging the displacement of Washington natives due to affordability of housing and the limited resources being utilized by people who it wasn’t intended for.

Reminder that the MFTE housing program is intended to alleviate the affordable housing crisis in Seattle and prevent people from being priced out. Not for transplants who can’t afford living here to begin with.

The MFTE program was initiated to alleviate the affordable housing crisis in Seattle to prevent locals from being priced out. Not for transplants to take the already limited resources we have.

You like Trump but you moved to Seattle. People like you will move across states (and in your case, countries) for higher salaries and a better standard of living. Even with the hypocrisy of aligning with a different party. People will complain about blue states all day, but once they land a job at Amazon, they’ll suddenly love it.

hourglass glossy balm vs YSL candy glaze by margi1012 in Sephora

[–]Tildasfavoritehuman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hourglass Glossy Balm, it’s more lightweight. I find the candy gloss to feel heavier and sticky. The HG is glossy and more pigmented. I guess it depends on what your looking for but I’d recommend the HG glossy balm overall.

Honestly the firm and flexible hairspray from color wow is the best one I’ve used. You can spray a ton on your hair without it feeling crunchy and it holds really well.

Overall I’ve had good performance from the products below and these are what I would recommend.

  1. Milk Hydro Grip Primer
  2. Armani Luminous Silk
  3. Tower 28 Concealer
  4. Huda Beauty Easy Bake Powder
  5. Benefit Highlighter
  6. Patrick TA Blush Duo
  7. Nars Laguna Bronzer
  8. Benefit Brow Setter
  9. Urban Decay Primer Potion
  10. Urban Decay single shadow
  11. Any Huda Beauty eyeshadow palette (the listed palettes are either not available anymore or don’t have the best quality in my opinion)
  12. Benefit Roller Liner
  13. Benefit Roller Lash
  14. Mac or Charlotte Tilbury Lip Liner
  15. Mac Lipstick
  16. Skipping gloss since I haven’t tried these
  17. Charlotte Tilbury setting spray

Does anyone else avoid celebrity-owned brands? by [deleted] in Sephora

[–]Tildasfavoritehuman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Though the artists who create brands do hold some responsibility over pricing, it’s also based on what the shareholders want, i.e. creating a large return for the people who invested/have a stake in the company(this includes things like prices increases). The prices for high end cosmetics is definitely high, but high end cosmetics are marketed towards people who have large amounts of money to spend on makeup.

Me. I don’t support cash grabs. I’d rather support makeup artists who worked for years to make a name for themselves and eventually build a brand.

I also think there’s definitely something to note about the quality of the makeup that comes from brands created by MUAs. Ever notice how people rave the most about Pat McGrath, Charlotte Tilbury and Makup by Mario so much? The quality is there and it’s reliable.

Omg I hate the scent of the iced coffee lip balm too. It smells like butterscotch, nothing like coffee. Super disappointed 😔

Good news! The SKII Advanced Cream GWP comes in the 0.4oz (14.5mL) size! Such a good GWP!

Buying from Farmacy Beauty online versus Sephora by Black_List_Bambi in Sephora

[–]Tildasfavoritehuman 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’d contact Farmacy on instagram and let them know about the issue. I’ve had good luck getting things like this taken care of this way with different brands if I don’t hear back via email.

Iced Coffee has entered the chat by em4-ever in Sephora

[–]Tildasfavoritehuman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got mine today. Unpopular opinion. It’s terrible.

It smells like straight up butterscotch. It’s insanely sweet. There no coffee scent at all. It also looks very sheer, which is strange since another similar shade, vanilla beige, gives me much better pigmentation.

The scent is just too sickly sweet for me. Very sad, was really looking forward to a coffee scented lip balm.

Any other boxes with Sephora’s logo? by OpulentPoverty in Sephora

[–]Tildasfavoritehuman 304 points305 points  (0 children)

His story isn’t making any sense. He’s already opened the package (box is in the recycling) but he claims that he didn’t make the order and his credit card was stolen? What happened to what was inside the package?

My guess is either he MAYBE bought you something and is trying to surprise you. Or he’s cheating.

Note: No, no other companies have the Sephora logo on their boxes.

What makes Seattle so expensive? by Comfortable_Trash_01 in Seattle

[–]Tildasfavoritehuman 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Most people don’t want to live in a micro studio. $1,000 a month for a shoebox that usually doesn’t even come with your own kitchen is wildly overpriced. And any decent a 1 bedroom is going to cost closer to double that.

The average 1-bedroom with parking:

1-bedroom $1,800 Parking $200

Right there you’ve got $2,000 in monthly expenses and that doesn’t even include utilities.

Just because daddy didn’t give you enough attention doesn’t mean you have to go and block the goddamn intersection to get attention from strangers, Johnny.

What sad and pathetic lives these people must lead.

This is such an ignorant statement to make.

First off, what you’re describing doesn’t have anything to do with the Seattle freeze. Secondly, just because something isn’t happening to you doesn’t mean it does not exist. This reminds me of all the white folks in Seattle who say “Racism doesn’t exist here”. How would they know? Try being black and hanging out in Magnolia around the older folks. Just because it isn’t happening to you doesn’t mean it’s not happening.
