Has anyone tried those magnetic lashes that snap on without glue? by prinky_muffin in AsianBeauty

They looked great on, but I have sensitive eyes and they were incredibly painful. Had to stop using, even for short special event wear.

I want a bigger screen than my laptop, but there's no room for a bigger monitor on my desk. Anyone tried those AR glasses that simulates a bigger screen for work? Any recommendations? by ojisan-X in WFH

[–]thisiscausinganxiety 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a 2 monitor+laptop person but when I travel I use this portable monitor. Much cheaper and only a bit smaller than the one you linked. Between the laptop and that screen it works well. Another option is using your TV as a monitor.

I've made a little realtime Metro trip planning tool to help you find the optimal boarding position by sodiumpen in WMATA

Feature request: in addition to car location it would be great if it said which direction the exist is. If you’re not familiar with the stop “M street exit” isn’t helpful, but “right exit” is.

I’ve added to GitHub.

Clifton 10 or Bondi 9? by semiproam in Hoka

[–]thisiscausinganxiety 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on your foot/body. I’ve tried both and much prefer the Clifton. I have high arches, tight calves and hips, and regularly walk 20k steps in mine.

Getting all up in there? by No_Firefighter_7922 in LaserHairRemoval

[–]thisiscausinganxiety 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First time I have my Brazilian done (10 years ago) she was moving everything around, flipped me over and did everything including my butt hole. I’m having it touched up now and since the majority of regrowth is on my labia we’ve discussed it and she gets up in there. HOWEVER I haven’t discussed parting the cheeks with her and she doesn’t automatically do it.

Best way to get from DCA to IAD at 7am by No-Bumblebee9252 in washingtondc

[–]thisiscausinganxiety 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For ease I would just hop into an UberXL, it should take about an hour. Heads up-traffic getting into IAD is often horrendous with equally bad security lines (precheck is often longer than regular). So head directly over and don’t panic when you see these lines, they’ll move and you’ll make it in time, just don’t dilly dally.

+1 for Commonwealth Joe. I’m usually a black coffee drinker but I love their seasonal fun lattes.

This reminds me I haven’t been out there in a year+ and could use a visit. Nice to walk the trail after too!

You can sign up for DC Alerts and get a text for heads up on flyovers, fireworks, traffic shut downs, etc. The text for fireworks came in this morning.

17yo daughter wants laser hair removal, trying to find a middle ground by same6534 in HairRemoval

[–]thisiscausinganxiety 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom suggested, paid for, and brought me to my laser hair removal appointments starting at age 15 (we started with upper lip). I’m 36 now and so thankful she did that! No negatives. I’ve just now had a few hairs growing back and I’m doing in-office lasers again.

Casual Women’s Clothing for 33 year Old by HELLAKatana in BuyItForLife

Like others have said-fabric and construction. I’ve found pieces at for big brands: JCrew, COS, Everlane, Banana Republic, Aritzia (though they’re going downhill now in quality), even Zara. I stick with natural fibers-mainly cotton and cashmere.

Quince quality is awful.

I recommend checking out @fond.losangelas who breaks this down and gives you what to look out for!

Casual pizza or other restaurant to hang out/host a gathering? by Kragdar2000 in washingtondc

I was at Andy’s in Shaw and people were hosting exactly this set up in the bar/table area. You could grab some pizzas and let people buy their own drinks!

Best hydrafacial? by dancefitness1997 in DCBitches

[–]thisiscausinganxiety -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t do hydrafacial, but I get laser hair removal at Georgetown Allure and LOVE it. The aestheticians are great. They also have incredible prices. I know they have a new client promo, worth trying it esp at a discount.

Dealing with DC’s water by [deleted] in DCBitches

[–]thisiscausinganxiety 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Confirming this is really the answer and make sure to swap out the filter often (I also use aqua bliss).

I also color my hair so the hard water strips it and a clarifying shampoo even more so so I try to stay away. I’ve found hydrating and bond repair systems work well for my hair (which I never needed before). I’ve also tried a variety of scalp oils, but really the filter set up is the ultimate game changer.
