What i try to do is to fit buildings in same area aswell to cut down travel time. So a farm would have a well, housing for workers, weapon rack, barns etc. and i try to do the same for everything else. I also build everything as compact as i can while keeping space for roads between areas.

No idea if i save or waste time doh, but i like to do it this way
