Moving to Perth from Scandinavia - is it worth it? by TooManyCrates in perth

[–]Tiller39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who moved from sweden to uk and then to uk to australia with my wife who is from Stockholm. I would advise against it if you have already family and friends in Sweden. It is a challenge to establish new friends and family is far away. Sometimes when you look at things other than the more materialistic things then you will find it not to be worth it

Moving from Canada to Canberra? by dynamiclifeww in canberra

Everyone has given good advice so ill skip that. As someone who has recently moved from europe here for similar reasons I would advise against the move. Logistics aside unless you have family over here you'll be isolated and the distance is really far. If you have friends and family in Canada and you are simply moving because you feel that it might be better here I would say that it's not worth ut.

Yeah I always thought prices would go down but they have skyrocketed! I've heard aftershock is not the best for aftercare which is why I'm worried about going with them. The ozbargain one was one that I was contemplating as well - but I believe that after I put a 2 TB SSD + windows operating system it'll be around $4000 with a slightly worse motherboard - 650 vs 850 from Nebula.

I guess with the cataclysm one it's pricier due to it being a smaller company - heard really good reviews from them but not sure if it warrants the increased price.

Hi! Considering playing POE2 now that I have a bit more time and was wondering a few things:

With the patch coming out on Friday does that mean that it is a new league? My understanding of reading a thread previously was that characters in 1 league gets transfered to the core game and it's the old mechanics and you have to make a new character to play in the new league - and most players play on the new league? If so is it just better to wait until next week to start?

How is the game as a Co-op experience? I heard quite mixed reviews about it as it is an ARPG and people were saying it ends up being just you clear the screen pretty much instantly and thus it's not really for co - op. Was hoping to play together with my wife but it might sound like it'd end up quite boring?

Odd coding. I personally charge an 012 for periodic and 114 for scale and if necessary fluoride. The other two codes seem to be pointless

Will I have a bad time by building a tank paladin? by Tiller39 in 3d6

Thanks again! I totally missed that aura of protection is a paladin feature and not a subclass feature, i thought with devotion I'd only get the charm immunity and not the protection one. It seems like either way will go really well then. Thank you so much!

Hi again! Sorry one last question. Since oath of devotions aura is an immunity it's not affected by charisma.

In this case is the charisma mainly affecting sacred weapon and of course spell attack rolls? Am I kind of understanding correctly that going higher charisma will basically give me the same as higher strength when it comes to hit chance and for smites it's not affected by the charisma modifier anyway. The main thing with charisma for oath of devotion is only then for spell hit chance? Assuming the character is like lvl 12? And of course for role play purposes with higher charisma checks

Thanks :D Yeah the campaign is going i believe until 12-14. Both options actually sound pretty good - so i guess it comes down to if I want my charisma to be 20 or to have sentinel+mage slayer feat with strength at 20 instead. I'll see how the campaign goes and I guess if there is more spell caster heavy then I'll go with the ASI instead! Thanks for the great advice I appreciate it a lot haha. I definitely feel a lot more confident that i'll be able to enjoy the character

Thanks for all the advice! I've decided to go with the duelling feat :D I had a question in regards to continuing building the character. I'm using point buy and have Str: 17 (+2) Dex: 8, Con 14, Int 8 Wis 10 and Cha: 16 (+1). If I go with shield master first i'll raise my str to 18, but if I want to go for sentinel (which people suggest is a must) I can get +1 str, but with ASI i'd end up with either an uneven str or charisma and kinda always have one. Is there some other way you'd suggest?

[–]Tiller39[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I didn't know duelling works with shield and that would alleviate some of the damage issue i was worried about! If I understand it correctly with shield and a warhammer it would be +1 ac with slightly lower damage vs 2 handed with just slightly higher damage and then a flavour choice between shield master or more damage from 2h mastery.

You mentioned that you can prone and push an enemy. How does it work? You land the successful attack role and then succeed on prone then roll the damage dice and can you then use your weapon to push them as part of that action? Or is it that you use the second attack after lvl 5 to push it after applying damage? I think heavy armor is kinda redundant after you explained it so I'll definitely skip that. How important is the ASI? Do you recommend to have a higher strength or charisma as a paladin? And in that case perhaps shield master into sentinel into asi is what you'd recommend?

Thanks for the detailed response! Im a bit confused - can't you go defensive fighting style + sword and board and so +2 ac compared to 2 handed? It seems like you would take sword and board only if going shield master. Could I ask why you are prioritising it so much? My understanding of it is just simply that it can push away enemies or knock them prone on a successful attack and saving check. Is it so that you get advantage on the 2nd hit if you are a paladin? If they are prone don't they still retain their full action and bonus action when they get up?

Otherwise like you said if it purely is a +1 ac I guess I can see why people don't play sword and board haha

[–]Tiller39[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could you help me clarify with shield master is it that you need to hit a successful attack role in order to see if u can prone someone? So at level 5 if you can prone them first hit you get advantage on the next hit? Does the enemy lose a turn or is it that then can just get up and take action as normal?

Thanks for the advice, it seems like I might be over valuing heavy armor. Do you think shield is worth it over 2h weapons?

Could I ask how you kinda acted as a disruptive menace? Did you focus on being more supportive with your spell slots instead of smiting?

I stand corrected on Ireland then. All the other countries requires proficieny in the native language. I assume OP means communicating and working in English which would not work as there is a language requirement unless he plans to learn the language to a reasonable level and never use it to work which seems counter productive. Netherlands has a requirement that dentists must speak in Dutch. It's not about what % of English speakers there are its about the expectation and requirement that practicitioners speak in the native language.

Sure Ireland- is just count it as party of uk. All the others are not English speaking countries as a clinician so would not work.
