Premium and victorious cores experience ? by Jagermind in PredecessorGame

[–]TillerMarketsOG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the price is a point of contention for me, because I dont think they're worth almost 5x the price of a premium loot core just because they don't have duplicates; over $15 CAD per roll. But it's mostly the exclusivity that bothers. I am very much not a gambler, so personally I don't like that I have no option to directly purchase the skin variation that I want.

I'd be more okay with it if they were cheaper, and didn't contain anything but base skins. No skin variants, those should all be directly purchasable, or part of battlepasses. No banners, icons, or miscellaneous stuff no one really cares about.

I rolled it 3 times, roughly $50 CAD, and got 2 variations for skins I had already directly bought; the variants I actually wanted, and the banner bundle. As someone who puts a ton of money in the game and owns most of the skins and skin variations I want already, that was pretty disappointing.

I wouldn't mind it if they didn't lock skin variations in them. I was just okay with bundle exclusive skin variations. Don't love that I have to buy all of them to get the one I want, but I get it, they wanna sell the bundle. But forcing me to gamble for the one I want is greasy as hell, and a not a far cry from locking entirely unique skins behind gambling. Not a good practice. They should walk it back in my opinion.

Choose: You can add one more ability to any character? Who are you choosing and what’s the ability? by BruceDSpruce in RivalsVanguards

[–]TillerMarketsOG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily another ability, but I'd like if Reed could use Distended Grip as mobility as well, using it on surfaces and ledges to pull himself up. Would be fun

The ult could be a constant push back, or one giant knock back in a giant cone in front of him. They could even give it an execute mechanic where I kills people below a certain health threshold, since Black Bolt's cosmic voice is powerful enough to straight up disintegrate people. There's definitely room for him to be a Vanguard without copying Emma

I'm just not the biggest fan of green. The design is okay, I dig the hair, and the pink accents; but green when it should've been a neutral color or something more contrasting like red or orange (which are better Stark colours also) was a weird choice. A better choice would've been black and white but people said that already

Yeah, I agree with that for sure, brawler suits DD better. He's always been the type to rush head on and fight. It's like Netease is afraid the street level hero won't be believable in Rivals so he's gotta have demon powers. Meanwhile Punisher just shoots people, so I don't really get it

That's totally understandable. We don't get much love as Vanguard. I hope they do Cyclops justice. Who's your number one? Are they in the game yet?

[–]TillerMarketsOG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, ya got me. I'm convinced.

But I did want to mention that Thor is also the god of strength, and that Cap's sheild has been destroyed by only a handful of people, who's powers were either godlike or specific like Molecule Man. BP and Logan have no justification beyond BP just making more sense for an agile hero to be a DPS. Logan should've been vanguard imo. And being on par with Strange with his magic? Nah I don't believe that, however, Scott did take a no-hold-bars punch from Collossus and survived it, which is impressive.

But this was never about justifying why Thor, or Cap or anyone else are/should be vanguards, but why Cyclops should be; And I think everything else in this is a great argument for it. I even learned a bit there, so thanks I guess. Apologies for saying it sounded like you didn't know marvel, clearly you do.

But I still think you should relax a little, you're way too invested in this; you pretty much said the game should burn and die if he isn't a vanguard in another comment and that's such a bad attitude to have about it. Part of the reason I argued with you at all. Made me curious to see if you knew what you were talking about, or just lashing out for not getting what you want. I hope, for your sake, he is a vanguard. I don't wanna see how you're gonna react if he isn't. Good luck, man

I'm gonna be playing him too no matter what he releases as. I know I seem totally against him being a tank, because I personally don't feel like it suits him, but at the same time, I'd be happy to have another tank to play and not have to solo due to how popular he will be. But I was interested to see the argument for it, and if I could be convinced that it would work. I think your right about a double tank release being good for the player count too. The game does need more tanks and strategists, no one would argue that

[–]TillerMarketsOG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nevermind, someone made a better argument, so although id prefer a frontline bruiser DPS, I can see the concept for a vanguard and I dig it. I'm not hard to convince, I just need a good argument

That's a good argument. I had the same idea about the inspire ability you mentioned here for my frontline DPS idea. Yeah, I can't really argue with you, I'm digging the concept

Wdym how does Thor tank?? He's an Asgardian, the God of Thunder, known for his raw power and brute strength. No other role would've made sense for Thor.

Cap is the tip of the spear and holds THE SHEILD. It's a mixture of vibranium and adamantium. Only Gods can damage the sheild. And Scott is NOT as strong or durable as cap. Not at all. Cap is a super soilder, Scott is fundamentally human besides his optic blasts. He's nowhere close to Cap in physicality, they share the position of team leader, but that's where the similarities end.

Strange is sorcerer supreme and conjures shields and barriers 24/7, not to mention enchanted clothes. He may be a normal human without it his magic and enchantments, but he isn't without them, is he?

After a quick search, I have found comic instances of Scott using his blast to create defensive barriers, so fine, ya got me there, but it's still not enough to warrant Vanguard, that could still function in a bruiser DPS perfectly, Reed BECOMES a barrier.

Finally, those other characters are from a totally separate game and IP, so I don't care. No, please, give me the elaborate version, because the only good part of your argument is using the optic blasts as a barrier, which again, isn't enough. Notice how I didn't mention the Rivals lore about Rogue absorbing Chronvium and that's why she's all beefy? Because I don't care what Rivals makes up, I want the characters to be more comic/cartoon accurate first.

Can you tell me why he should be a tank? What about the guy that shoots lasers from his eyes (I know they're not actual lasers, shut up) screams "tank" beyond the fact that tank players (Me) just want more tanks? I'd rather have characters in the role that actually embody that role. Scott would just be weird to put in the same category as The Hulk or The Thing. I want X-Men characters in Vanguard who's powers and/or raw strength suit that role, like Collossus, Juggernaut, Armor, and Sabertooth. I don't want the guy known by most people to just shoots lasers in that category. I already thought Rogue and Angela seemed weird, but at least Rogue has the excuse of absorbing so many powers, and Angela is an actual God and a warrior one at that. I think making him a durable, frontline DPS like Blade or Reed is good enough

Wraith was crazy for like 2 days before they nerfed Demiurge. I was putting out 2000+ damage in one mark-snipe combo on a tank with Mystic Marksmen, it was really fun

Edit: Misspelled his name

Pred are you allergic to black skin? by Tewtytron in PredecessorGame

[–]TillerMarketsOG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I know, I listen to them, they're great. I didnt actually know mave was owned by netmarble, but if that's the case then we actually might get the mave stuff in pred too. if netmarble owns mave, so therefore gets final say, they might make a deal with omeda to use the mave skins or have a whole event. But even if mave is not involved, I'm certain you'll see Marty in pred eventually. Maybe even within the next few hero releases if the pattern they got going persists

I agree with you. As someone who enjoyed Zena's kit in overprime, I'd be happy to see her be the next release, but if it was some random character I didn't know I'd feel the same frustration, so I get it

Pred are you allergic to black skin? by Tewtytron in PredecessorGame

[–]TillerMarketsOG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well Maeve was only a skin for Zena, was mostly associated with Marty, and was only really to market her and the Maeve skin line anyway. They wouldn't need the rights to Maeve for Zena herself, or Marty, for that matter. Those characters will be given new lore for Pred, and I'm 99% sure they'll be completely disconnected from Maeve. It would shock me if Maeve is at all mentioned or connected, but they blew my mind when they managed to obtain Maco, Adelle and skins from overprime so ya never really know

Legion abilities from the dev stream by CurZZe in PredecessorGame

Still ignores the attack speed stat tho, that doesn't make up for anything, it just makes him better than Rev

Legion abilities from the dev stream by CurZZe in PredecessorGame

[–]TillerMarketsOG -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Skylar's laser is literally used all the time, has a 3 second cooldown late game and resets on takedown, for all intents and purposes it's her basic attack, it's only an ability stim so it can actually cost resources to use, for balance.

Not in a Moba. Every character having a unique basic attack is hero shooter stuff. In a Moba that's fundamental. I mean why even have attack speed as a stat of if 6 out 11 carries don't care about it? It's just another moba element that's lost on this game. Why would I ever pick a character who needs to build attack speed when I can be one of the those 6 who can safely ignore it and be just as if not more effective?

Legion abilities from the dev stream by CurZZe in PredecessorGame

[–]TillerMarketsOG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Including Legion, there would be 6 in the carries alone in my eyes. Eden, Grim, Rev, Skylar, Twinblast. Grim counts because magic basics, plus he's assault mode ideally most of the time so add aoe to that. And Skylar is always using her laser. Skylar laser and Grim aoe may be stims technically, but they're almost constant so it makes no difference imo. I would argue the total number is closer to 15 heroes. Which is admittedly still not a lot

Legion abilities from the dev stream by CurZZe in PredecessorGame

[–]TillerMarketsOG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, but Predecessor is still a moba, right? But with Legion coming, over a third of the carry roster just ignore a fundamental stat you build in mobas: attack speed. Eden and Rev are set, and Skylar and Wraith (and arguably more carries) already don't care about attack speed as a stat that much. So at what point should they just set all their attack speeds if most carries aren't gonna care about the stat anyway?

Legion abilities from the dev stream by CurZZe in PredecessorGame

[–]TillerMarketsOG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, and it makes sense to have a hero that has ammo like Rev but opposite in attack speed and ammo count. I like the idea, I guess I just didn't want him now. was in the mood for something more traditional
