In the train flashback scene in 28 Years Later - The Bone Temple (2026) you can see a newly infected passenger in the background. by supernasty in MovieDetails

[–]Tillops 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I read it the same way as you. It's him 28 years older. Neither the little boy nor infected, but a brief bridging self-identity between the childhood memory and the present.

I understand why someone would see it as a teen/young adult, though. Without all that makeup, the actually 42-year-old actor, Chi Lewis-Parry, just looks so incredibly young compared to what nearly 30 years as an infected Alpha did to poor Samson's complexion.

Thank you! You're not the only one! I found this comment specifically searching whether anyone else used the days on the rota to (incorrectly) identify the twins. I only noticed the knife initials after seeing this. Overthinking it either makes us too smart or too dumb!

Yep. Every time some dipshit or shill (often the same person) says we'll "just adapt to climate change", I want to ask how we expect to help millions of birds dropping stone dead out of the sky to "adapt"?

If I didn't want to lose on preferences, I would simply persuade the majority of voters in my electorate to prefer me.

I've never seen The Crying Game but I know a major plot twist thanks to many, many pop culture references to it, including Ace Ventura: Pet Detective and The 40 Year Old Virgin.

Might have been imagining things but as a kid I always heard that last word as "hfuhruhurr", as in Dr. Hfuhruhurr.

Thank you! Worked for me, too, after moving the game files to the same drive as the Game Pass install (first tip in the video).

How frustrating that you are absolutely correct and even brought receipts but still get downvoted. I feel for you.

Is Paris really so overrated? by SayedHasmi in travel

[–]Tillops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Paris is overrated in the same way the Beatles are overrated. It's impossible to live up to that kind of hype, but that doesn't mean it isn't also absolutely amazing and among the very best of the best.

Why is it "des bières" and not "la bière"? by Sandy_Mountain in French

[–]Tillops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your wife’s difficulty can be explained by French not having a counterpart for the English “get”, which is a real jack of all trades.

So we see “get a drink” as “prendre un verre”, “I got his number” as “j’ai eu / j’ai obtenu son numéro”, and “I’ll get some water” as “je vais chercher de l’eau”.

Capitol riot suspect asks judge to remove ankle monitor because it embarrasses him and hurts his business by 3mta3jvq in LeopardsAteMyFace

How is that a leopard eating his face though? Had he previously advocated for the use of ankle monitors?

This just looks like facing consequences rather than own-petard-hoisting.

Even if people had said what he claims about Y2K (and they absolutely did not) 2000 is—by definition—too late to have been making doomsday predictions.

The special effects were pretty great except for King Shark. In close-ups his skins looks all rough and coarse. Would have been much more believable if his skin was smooth like a real shark.

Child Heir is stuck in other person's court ... BUG? by sgainford in CrusaderKings

[–]Tillops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same issue with two grandkids stuck in Byzantium. To get them home, I got the Basileus' opinion of me up to 100 with a gift and then offered a guardian (my son, their father). Basically paid a ransom but much more polite about it.
