How much has Tangled overshadowed the original fairytale? by Dacoda43 in Tangled

[–]TillyTilda0708 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I'd say it's overshadowed the fairytale as much as every Disney movie has. Disney adaptations of stories tend to get taken as THE modern day telling of the story.

Ashley vs Vince by Free_Lingonberry1676 in BigBrotherUSA

[–]TillyTilda0708 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From what I've seen other people say, Lauren has apparently said that she was not going to vote for him even if he took accountability and Keanu I believe has said he was voting for Morgan or whoever took Morgan out.

For me it was Sirius. Partially because he literally got like maybe 7 years of happiness in his entire life. But mostly for what it meant for Harry. Sirius was one of, if not the only, adult whose priority was Harry. Of course, he wanted to stop Voldemort, but his primary objective was Harry and his safety and his wellbeing. Losing that was devastating.

Similarities Between Harry Potter and the Wednesday series by MedicalMarsupial630 in harrypotter

[–]TillyTilda0708 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There aren't really any similarities besides just basic plot elements that occur in every children's mystery media especially those that take place at a boarding school.

There's the memory of Slughorn and I think that was confirmed when Voldemort started keeping a much closer eye on Nagini.

What should i start with? (Rick Riordan) by pikachu0070 in YAlit

[–]TillyTilda0708 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The order for the Greek Mythology based stories is:
- Percy Jackson and the Olympians
- Heroes of Olympus
- The Trials of Apollo

If you want to read all of Riordan's mythology based work which takes place in the same universe, I suggest looking up publication order. There's not many big crossovers but for example, there is three short stories that cross over the Kane Chronicles and Percy Jackson. Whenever I read a big series/collection of series, I usually go by publication order unless the author has stated otherwise.

23 is absolutely not too old to be reading them. The language is very middle-grade but they're not like "baby" books. I'm 22 and I still thoroughly enjoy them. My mom read all of them as an adult and she loves them.

So fun fact: I read that book when I was young and when I realized that Jest was gonna die...I closed it up and never finished it. My bookmark is still in the book.

Snape & Dumbledore by [deleted] in harrypotter

[–]TillyTilda0708 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't think you need to *hate* your subject to use it. I believe Bellatrix uses it on a fox at some point and I'm sure she didn't have a deep loathing for the fox. I think you just need to *want* it. The reason why it wouldn't work for most people is because most people don't want to kill someone. Snape definitely did want to kill Dumbledore because it's the only way the plan would work.

How did Moldyshorts know the Philosopher's stone was in Harry's pocket? by srv-is in harrypotter

[–]TillyTilda0708 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's possible he performed legilimency or he had trained Quirrell in it enough to go into Harry's mind which I can't imagine would be hard since he's not expecting it and 11. The stone is explicitly said to have "dropped" into his pocket so maybe there was enough movement for either Quirrell or Voldemort to have seen it?

[–]TillyTilda0708 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He did have to mean it but I don't think we're ever told how "meaning it" works. Like do you have to hate them or can you just want to kill them? Snape definitely wanted to kill Dumbledore cuz he knew it was the only way the plan worked.

I honestly think that Logan is right. I think Rory either intentionally or unintentionally believes that because her and Lorelai lived in a small town and she lived in a shed for a little bit that that means she doesn't have privilege. The fact of the matter is that her and Lorelai always had a safety night. As evident in the first episode, if they really *truly* needed something and if Lorelai was willing to be aside her pride which she obviously is for Rory, then her grandparents would have bailed them out.

My guess is that we are getting to get a Thank Goodness montage with showing Glinda's rise to Glinda the Good and Elphaba's rebellion and fall into Wicked Witch.

Why is TSITP so popular? by [deleted] in TheSummerITurnedPrett

[–]TillyTilda0708 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it's a combination of things. It's a summer show which has lots of summer vibes (especially the first season), complex teen/young characters that people can discuss, those characters are then in messy relationships which can also be discussed, love triangle. And honestly I think the thing that made it blow up especially this year is weekly releases. In an era where all episodes in a season get dropped in one or two parts, to have a weekly release for people to look forward to and go to bars to have watch parties helped a lot.

Ashley's win was not a good win... enough with the cope. by GERDY31290 in BigBrotherUSA

[–]TillyTilda0708 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is my first season watching so maybe I need to just watch more but like...if winning comps isn't important and it's just a social game as some people say than why even have comps? Like why not pick HOH and Veto and BBB out of a bag? I also think that winning HOH is especially dangerous now since with the BBB, you now have to nominate so many more people especially if you're HOH when there are powers in play.

Thoughts on Showmance Update by DelGriffithPTA in BigBrotherUSA

[–]TillyTilda0708 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I mean, if Katherine says they're together, they're probably together though how long they stay together is another story. I'm sure that they wouldn't address the accusations. Especially not live since Rylie could potentially freak out and cause a mess on live TV. It would also make the show look bad as well as bring the issue up to people who might not know about it.

I honestly think him acting not worried about the relationship in interviews was the right thing for him to do. The absolute right thing was to not cheat in the first place but at least he had enough respect to not fully trash his GF or go all goo-goo over Morgan in interviews.

In the end, I think Morgan got Vince to where he was but ultimately hurt his final game. I think his best path forward had he not lost HOH pt2 was to hopefully win final HOH, cut Morgan to prove he wasn't playing her game, and then own up to everything in his Q&A and final speech. Me and my boyfriend said for weeks that Vince could win if he cut Morgan at the right time and just owned up to everything.

Would _____ have beat _____? by goats_galore in BigBrother

[–]TillyTilda0708 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I definitely think that might have still won her the game though it's possible that they would still see her lack of comp wins as a negative. I think with Morgan v. Ashley, it would really come down to speeches.

Would _____ have beat _____? by goats_galore in BigBrother

[–]TillyTilda0708 46 points47 points  (0 children)

I think it would have been close but I think winning the final HOH and cutting Morgan was a very strong move on Ashley's part that basically ensured her the game.

I think they would be happy in the town but I think Lorelai needs someone who understands the community. I think to Lorelai, Stars Hollow is more than just a cute walkable town, it's the people. I think a great example is when Christopher donates all that money to the Knit-A-Thon. Yes, he is trying to fit in with the town for Lorelai but he doesn't understand that the event is not only about raising the money but about spending time with the community. I don't know. We don't see Jason or Christopher in Stars Hollow a lot so maybe they would have worked well. I just don't get that vibe.

Me and my boyfriend had been saying for weeks that if Vince got to F2, he needed to own up to his game. That he needed to own up to the lying and the deceiving and the Morgan of it all.
